Ekstone, the method used currently has worked for 8 seasons already, no need to change it.

The whole idea is that it takes time to rise to the top, so having new players having a chance to become champions after 1 season kinda defeats the purpose of the whole concept.

From what I can tell season 9 hasn't started yet... If that is the case, and there are spots available, I'd like to join. Thanks!

Hmm, I thought there were more and more participiant (= more groups) in every new seasons, but I checked the older seasons (I can find only seasons 5-8) and it seems the growth is no so quick as I thought.

I read more about this league (checked the old seasons) and it seems there isn't any major problem with this league (that I thought at first sight) :)

Anyway, I still think, would be better less groups (maybe 4) and the rest players should play a qualifing double-elimination tourney for promotion spaces of the bottom league. So in that way the purpose of your concept still alive and the newcomers (or rejoiners) will be more motivated, couse not so many seasons.

But the present method works for a long time as Hedja wrote.
Btw, what is your plan Chokecherry if for example +20 players want to join?

All in all, if it is possible, I would like to change my mind, and would like to join the league yet. I have no choice, because I am a fanatic competitor face :) and this league has a big reputation.

the whole point of the league is slowly going up, and not taking to long per season, if there was a qualifying double elimination tourney for everyone not in the top 4 groups then it would be super slow and super boring waiting for that tourney to end

Yes. We're getting really close to the end of the season finally. One more game in Group E which will determine a promotion spont and one more tie-breaking game from Group D which (between Zakyman and Turing) which won't. I think both will be over soon.

I have 11 newcomers and 6 group H players who aren't jumping to F. The options were to combine all 17 into 2 Group G's, or to have a single Group G and smaller H groups. All things considered, I believe the second option is better.

Dutch desire then becomes the 7th for Group G as he was the first to ask to join the new season with the 6 H's. The other 10 newcomers will be split into 2 equal H groups.
