Ryan, many members are annoyed because they bought the membership within the timeframe of a month before 2.0. Had we not used this $30 we would have unlocked most of the features people buy memberships for. I was just hoping that because there was so much hype about 2.0 beforehand that members would get more things as well, at the moment it seems we can get to 40 players in a game and local deployment, both of which might be unlock-able by non-members.
I'm glad I could support the site (I'm never going to ask for a refund or something) but one of the reasons I bought membership was for the extra features. Now, non-members can obtain those previously exclusive features (albeit with a lot of playing). If the player limit and local deployment are open for non-members too (and if they are unlockable at a certain level, than I'm 99% sure it will be for all players), I can't help but feel Fizzer has robbed members of their privileges.
i don't feel robbed. i would have felt robbed if i wouldn't be able to disable the popup ads though.
do you even know _what_ non-members can now unlock and _when_ ? maybe it's too much of a hassle that some of them will actually want to pay for skipping it. or if they don't they'll see enough ads to be worth it by the time they get their damn forsaken 24 player diplos.
Robbed is probably too strong a word to describe it. I do think it is unfair though if there are no member exclusive features (which there probably aren't). If you can unlock extra players through levels, it is probable (if not certain) that non-members can get it. Same goes for local deployment.
If what I said above is true, than all members get is the ability to turn ads off. Most apps offer the same for 99p. Other games offer a membership deal for extra features (+the ability to turn off ads).
Arun you were complaining about this yesterday as well, and the only thing you are complaining about is that certain features MIGHT BE unlockable for non-members.
Since i don't want to go into other people's fantasies, i shall present a few facts instead:
Non-members can create tournaments, still with non-member settings.
Non-members can invite up to 10 players to their games.(compared to 40 for members)
Non-mebers can not change luck, rounding order, move order in their games NOR can they join a CLOT-ladder(are there even any running?) that uses any of these settings, they 're still lower priority for the server and have to watch ads.
There is a chance that some of the luck/rounding order/move order become available for non-members as they level up, but it seems unlikely that all three become available.
Nobody but Fizzer knows whether local deployment is member-exclusive or not.
Members cannot create games with 40 players. They may be able to if they level up enough, but so can non-members. Same goes for local deployment (if it were members only it wouldn't be unlockable it would be there already for members).
Same probably goes for luck/move order. The point is we don't know, but it seems pretty likely and if so, my points stand.
Hmm, i'm curious what the new max. is for non-members then, though i must say i was already pleased with being able to make 8-player games.
It might be 22 since 6(standard) + 16 (added new max. for members that they have to level to unlock) is 22 together, although that # seems high to me.
Arun - it seems to me you're just looking for something to complain about, so here:
You're right, you got screwed over by Fizzer and should sell your account to someone for 20$
then make a new free account and just unlock everything with leveling up.
arun, we already said this several times, try to get it: what we are trying to say si that probably non-members wont eb abel to get the 40 players agmes even with levels, those things will only be unlocked to members... but we also dont know it, as you also dont, but it seems likely to be this way
