+1 MotD (but not the idea of clans directly choosing templates)

The league would be alot more interesting if every new season can't have templates featured in the previous season.


edit: To clarify, it wouldn't be only new templates every season... just that for example 3v3 EU can't be used for season 7, but can be used again in season 8.

Hmm, i like variety too. Not sure every other season would create that as you would just alternate a lot. I would rather see like more consistant variety.

I agree that we should include a rule that a template can't be used in consecutive seasons. I might include an exception for the 1v1 ladder template, though, since it's rather central to strategic warlight.

I'm testing out a Treasure Map 3v3 template, that might be worth including in a season.

Instead maybe make a seperate thread where anyone can nominate templates (set within the standards for strategic and by supplying a actual link to it) and then you clanleaders vote on it.

Well that is kinda what I would want it to be. Throwing in a couple of fresh templates whilst bringing back the good templates used in previous seasons by alternation. If you only do new templates every season the quality of templates could drop.

Dom and Andy's 1v1 Warlight League has a huge variety of templates. I can think of dozens of 2v2 templates..... As far as 3v3 play: Great Lakes, Europe, Sanctuary, RoR, and East Asia are the best maps/templates.

I don't agree with not being able to use a template two season in a row, but I would support something a little bit more lenient, like this:

-Templates can't be used 3 seasons in a row
-Only 50% of templates can be used from one season to the next
-Only one template per team-size using the same map.

Can we participate without being in one of the clans who's playing? Like a substitute or something?

3 seasons means roughly 18 months, to loooooong :P

Those rules seem like they will add alot of time and effort to the already slow process of starting up the league again after the previous season ends. Also the templates and maps are already switched a bit between seasons so those rules would be like adding something time-consuming that kinda already happens naturally.

Darkpie i think he meant that you can use the template 2 seasons in a row and then the 3rd season you can't use that same template again.

If that is the case i actually like that since in that way you can keep the great templates for another season and you will keep the variety in the templates/maps played as well. Maybe you can look at the recently added maps as well to look if there are possibly some templates for those maps possible just to stimulate the mapmakers in general since i think some maps might be underrated and some overrated last period

Yeah, that's what I meant. It was the same theory as not using the same template twice in a row, just not as strict since I think it's better to have the more "Standard" templates like Strat 1v1 be used more than every-other season, but we don't need them in every season either.

The reason why we've all been trying to get Warlight to support a 3v3 Europe ladder is because that template is hands down the best 3v3 template we can think of. Unlike 1v1 and 2v2, there's not a huge argument going on about what template is the best way to test your skill in 3v3. So if you're trying to find a standard competitive template with little argument on test of skills.. well here you are:

If you keep asking about 1v1 you'll constantly get different answers, but with 3v3 there really isn't a better 3v3 template.

The problem with 3v3 is that there hasn't been another template that we are comfortable saying is strategic.

With that in mind, I challenge the competitive community to bring forth a template of 3v3 played on a different map that is comparable to Europe. If you do so, I will urge everyone in league A to vote for it.

^ That's the same template you recommend in the map description, right? It looks like 0% WR No Cards with the Lakes bonuses and a few others set to 0 and I can't spot any difference between that template and the other one.
