also how can anyone recommend sword art online it is bad. the action is good but everything else sucks.
sword art online abridged is a better show with more character.

Hellsing OVA is a good one .
other series that i found good (my opinion ) : Vampire Kinght, Count of Monte Christo,The Melacholy of Haruhi Suzumyia, Kaichou wa Maid-sama.

Hellsing - Yes.

If anyone is going to watch Vampire Knight, while I don't recommend it personally, I will say to watch the subbed version. Save your ears from that god-awful dub.

Count of Monte Cristo - Yes.

Haruhi Suzumiya is another good one, but just watch the first season.

and bear with the second just so you can watch the movie.

If I could unwatch it I would. Don't even consider it as a viable option.

One that's still unmentioned that I find pretty good is Katekyo Hitman Reborn. I'm not much of an anime guy and I have only watched 3 or 4 from start to end in my whole life, and KHR is one of them. 203 episodes of an interesting storyline, pretty fun characters and beautiful animation

One catch though, the first few episodes are character development. and by few I mean ~15 episodes. These 15 are pretty funny and hardly intense, but it gets awesome later on.

I will say to watch the subbed version.

I would say always watch subbed versions.

I watch Pokémon , well its classed as watching anime.

Also mey friend once watched perverted anime , I forgot the name ._. . It was so sexual :P

There are some good anime out there. Good plots, good character developments. Its just a matter of sifting through all of the fanservice to find them.

Btw Break Blade is a great show as well. Its a mechas show but its still good.

I agree 100% with what Lolicon says but I'd recommend Fullmetal Alchemist as your very first. It's not my favorite but it's a good place to start.

If difficult to recomend something without knowing your tastes but I will try:

Most dub is shit though.

But those that aren't are those that should be watched. Like Dragon Ball Z. In the modern dub, Goku doesn't sound like a tranny.

Or the FMA dub,where Edward doesn't sound like a tranny.

Or the One Piece dub, where Luffy doesn't sound like a tranny.

Or the Code Geass dub, where Lelouch doesn't sound like an ancient samurai.

Or the Baccano! dub, where the English speaking people actually speak English.

Or the Trigun dub, which is Johnny Yong Bosch's debut.

Or the Soul Eater dub.
