You think preventing a boring life is a good excuse for allowing underage drinking? You guys are insane. 88,000 people die from alcohol related deaths per year. PER YEAR. How many people die from marijuana?? Alcohol related deaths are the 3rd leading preventable cause of death in the US. You guys are so high you don't understand facts anymore. Repealing prohibition was a mistake.

I'm not saying marijuana is good. I am simply saying that relatively, alcohol is far more dangerous to personal and public health. That's based biological and statistical facts.

@Sultan - but that's what I am saying. Alcohol is shown to be infinitely more disastrous to other people's health because of the large number of DUI accidents caused to be people.

Alcohol in moderation is healthier than no alcohol o.O

actually Jai, I have to disagree, Cannabis is way more dangerous compared to Alcohol: it has been proven scientifically that to drink one glass of wine (good wine of course) per day could actually be good for your health: The fair quantity of red wine to drink improve your sleep , it also improves your metabolism protection against cardiovascular diseases and also provides an excellent rate of cholesterol (this is according to an international study). BUT Cannabis even a small quantity of it is bad, (it severely damage your brain, and can lead to a major stroke)

However, about alcohol I am strongly against "binge drinking" (a practice coming from Nordic and Anglosaxon countries): excessivity is dangerous, because your behavior can be harmful, and also because an excess of alcohol is also bad for your health.

So to conclude: drink alcohol (preferably wine or any good alcohol, avoid strong alcohols or adulterated ones), but drink with moderation.

Maybe we should all just stick to heroin.

Disagree, but I can tell this is going nowhere. People aren't drinking in moderation...88K deaths per year is evidence of that. But whatever who cares. Human lives don't matter much I guess.

jai show some sources before posting some figures, that could help your argumentation. And yeah alcohol and cannabis are both bad, but cannabis is bad in any case whereas alcohol with moderation is just ok and even could improve your health as stated earlier.

Human lives DON'T matter we have too many of them so less is good.

Even I admit the moderate health benefits of alcohol, however the deaths don't make any of the positives justifiable in my mind.
