This is a fascinating idea!

I agree as well that seasonal shouldn't count due to it's volatility.

I also think there needs to be some concept of "dividends". otherwise, there is no incentive to invest in the higher ranked players.

Ex -

1v1 ladder
(30-rank)* 10 $ per day. if rank < 30
0. if rank > 30

2v2 ladder
(15-rank)* 20 $ per day. if rank < 15
0. if rank > 15

I like this thought as well. If Benjamin approves, the dividends for top 30 of 1v1 ladder/top 15 of 2v2 ladder become law ;)

Not really. The only massive inflation occurs in the seasonal ladders; the other ladders have relatively stable ratings. It's actually fairly difficult to sustain a rise in your own rating, so any changes will be relatively small. Our stocks will inflate if people invest wisely -- if not, it will deflate.

Remember that a stock will never continue gaining indefinitely. You will eventually want to sell before a player drops out of the ladder, as your shares become $0 if that person is unranked.

(30/(Players per Team)-Rank)*(10*players per team)

Thus, the top player of the 1v1/RT ladder would get $290 a day, top 2v2 ladder team would get $280 a day, top 3v3 ladder would get $270 a day.

Update: I sell all shares of Dead Piggy stock, and buy 3 shares of Arkanton 1v1 Ladder, and 1 share of MW + Yeon 2v2 Ladder.

@MasterPierre, if you could list your remaining funds (liquid assets) as well, that'd be great. Gotta keep the market transparent. ;)

Benjamin, with dividends can we assume they are paid at midnight at whatever time period a person happens to be in? Or do you have another time in mind?

Was waiting for answer before posting liquid assets. Also, can we standardize when dividends are calculated? GMT midnight?

^Standardizing dividend pay-time is probably the most logical choice.
