From a Canadian's perspective, I can say Obama is very popular over here.

The USA Dollar is very strong at the moment. The unemployment rate is at 5.5% while 200'000 jobs are being added monthly.

He began the process of normalizing relations between Cuba and the USA. He publicly offered his support on gay marriage and a gun control proposal. He blocked Keystone XL.

Also, Obamacare is just a natural step toward universal healthcare and is very welcomed.

Of course, there have been more drone strikes than before. We also can't forget the mass surveillance scandal. However, I think Obama still remains a very good president.

Unemployment rate numbers are never to be taken seriously. That goes for every nation's quota.

edit: Obamacare is illegal.

He's not a good president, either. He never was, so he can't "remain" good, anyway.

But you're applying Canadian standards, values, and politics to judge him. So...yeah there's that difference of perspective.

we might have still been fooled by reports of iraq having wmds

I think you're ceding too much ground there. Just my opinion, tho. Perhaps you're 'just throwing them a bone'? :-) The reports themselves were only a tiny smidgen of the 'being fooled' dynamic. If the Bush administration was fooled -- if! -- then they wanted to be fooled, the same way groupthink works (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Groupthink). It's this latter case of groupthink that I'm arguing for, since it's much more easily demonstrable. Any other non-groupthinking administration wouldn't have encountered the same dynamics, e.g. Gore.

Ultimately, Bush is the one responsible for his administration, though I agree with you that nastier minds such as Cheney and Rumsfeld had tons of influence on this, and on Bush in general. I bet I'm more on the side of Bush being a true puppet than Jai is, so that's why I was so surprised he went there! XD

PS: For a relevant demonstration of the potentially catastrophic effects of groupthink, refer to the 1986 space shuttle Challenger disaster, which is a classic example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=refVQw5ZO9c

Your a jerkoff. Sorry, that's just how I feel. I just simply do not like you.

Good day.

@NAD: Congratulations.

Hey don't pick on Wct you ass....he's one of the only people I respect.

@JangoFett: No need. It's just the internet, after all. :-)

I respect a lot of people. But I don't have respect for a person who doesnt think a 13 year old is capable of basic mental thought and planning.

@NAD: Uh, what? When did I ever say any such thing?

Only Canada's conservative government wanted to reach a deal with Obama about Keystone XL. A majority of Canadians opposed this pipeline. We are very thankful to Obama for blocking it.

It's one of the many reasons why a new liberal government has been elected not long ago.

I can assure you won't hear about Keystone XL for a very long time.

Are there any other reason we're supposed to dislike Obama?

He just doesn't want to waste time on your absurdity, is all. You are not dumb, you're just ignorant. You take into consideration everything good (in your view) Obama's actions have done for CANADA, but nowhere and nothing else. He has plenty of argument left, but since you are so blind to President Obama's cons, why should he try to open your eyes to them? The cons are there in front of our faces.

Darth Darth Binks, you might have missed my other reply at the top of this page. I commented about the economy, among other things, in it.

I never claimed I know everything. Why don't you tell me in a serious, unbiaised and impartial way why Obama is a terrible president for the USA?

There have been more tensions with African Americans. Can't deny that. There has been the mass surveillance scandal involving Snowden. Can't forget about that one either. There have been more drone strikes than before. I have to admit it.

But the USA dollar is strong. There have been more jobs and a lower unemployment rate despite an higher debt. You also gained gay marriage and better relations with Cuba. Obamacare is a step toward universal healthcare.
