Platinum is not crazy. Level has nothing to do with maturity. Its to make the process of using alts to cheat things much harder, though it doesn't take that many games to level an alt to the 30s tbh. Forcing trolls and such to put significant time into their alts makes it so much easier to handle them - several hours to create alt < not much time to find and suspend :P

This guy made a review of almost all available maps on Warlight yet he has never participated in a ranked game.

A level limit up to 30 is crazy. Simply rating or reviewing a map doesn't require much Warlight skill. And if you do wish to implement a level limit. Do it low.Level 5 seems good. Warlight should not punish people who are contributing to Warlight. People like Nathan for example.

Honestly I think it should be L56+. Until you've unlocked all the maps, you're not actually exposed enough to what's out there (which has a serious impact on how you rate things- restaurants, where variety is high, are often rated more harshly than barbershops, where you really just pick one and stick with it => low exposure means high ratings).

If you're a L5 and you've just played Medium Earth for the first time, you're probably not even aware of MME and can't really properly rate it without having a good context for what deserves a 1 and what deserves a 5. At that point you're likely just going to give it your anchor rating.

Last I checked, getting to L30 doesn't require much skill either. I mean, you're L55 and clearly didn't get there by having a lot of skill. :P

Instead of levels, though, we could go by games played (100+?) or days since joining (50+?). Those would avoid the negative consequences of a level restriction.

Why not a mix of them all? 15 days since account creation, at least 25 multiplayer games and level 10.

This way you can't grind up alts by spamming games against other alts (trust me, you level up insanely fast early on; with 3 accounts at level 15 or higher you can get 45k points in just about 2 minutes*.

You'd have to either schedule your alts to rating inflate or wait to be able to use them, too. And 25 games against yourself is awfully irritating/boring. So just grinding up with alts gets discouraging.

*you can use a 4-man round robin tourney to give 1 account 90k while also giving benefits to the others, whch is even worse and shouldn't take over 5 minutes, too.

Or you should be able to void any prerequisite for voting maps, such as thees suggested here, by having M.

That accounts nicely for Natan and ithers who play SP.

Minimum level... 10!
Minimum games played... 50!
Minium days since creation... 20!

knyte, access to almost every map doesnt change the quality of rates. It neither guarantees that players played various maps or have a better understanding for strategic values nor that they fully understand the map making process, the effort which was put into it and the resulting quality of the map.
It will only lead to a significant decrease of rates and reviews for new upcoming maps.

First point is useless, as long as you will probably need 15 days to level up your new alts!^^ The time delay will still not prevent manipulating the results. The other points might be useful to hinder trolls like anonym, but it will also keep out players like Nathan, who made great reviews for almost every map.

Until this dont become common praxis, it will be best fizzer simply bans the troll and undo the rates.

Seems I was correct to assume that anonym was behind it. He may be looking at further action against him. I received several PMs from what I'll again assume is him. He told me not to underestimate him, that I can't stop him, and then in separate PMs he mentioned knowing about proxies, and then had the gumption asked me if I knew how he could play games whilst using a proxy, which apparently isn't working for him. If you see anyone asking this question be careful of who you are answering.

I understand he's been suspended? Hopefully he is on his way to a permanent ban. How to stop him from creating more accounts though, I don't know.

It can be very easy to level up. I levelled up faster than I expected but I've read it's because I signed up from another site I won't mention as I don't want to give it away to anonym, though he may find out elsewhere. A minimum level may be a bad idea as Nathan has seemed to review many maps very well. An account age though would be good. I'd support 1 month. I think in that time players usually will have played on at least a few maps to know something about the variety. Better yet the current system is also fair. I think this is the first time this has happened right? Generally, there's not a problem, and it's fair to say Fizzer acted quick enough when there was.

Let's just move on.

The whole thing about hundreds of alts could have probably been prevented by just requiring a Captcha (or similar) on the signup.

Just went through the WarLight signup as a test and realised I could automate creating thousands of alts that do a specific task on WL overnight with about an hour of macro-writing. And that's because I'm not very good at macro-writing. Someone who actually codes could probably do it in 10min.

If Fizzer just manually makes 20 pictures of numbers in funny fonts and assigns a required input to each one on signup he'd definitely stump me and probably also the guy with the alt problems from doing it in future.

Personally, I think it should be at least level 10, 15 days on warlight and 5 multi-player games played to rate maps
However, if you buy membership, then you can ignore these. Give another (really small) perk to members.
