Yeah, if everyone decides to tweak, then what? When is the cutoff for tweaking? When the RR starts? It is very possible that tweaks hold up starting as it often takes days to get a player to join something they were just invited to.

If you allow tweaks, there must be a hard deadline on those for sure.

While a deadline is very important, their may be a need for tweaks etc. Given that this is all online, we can never vertify any resone for tweks. Hence a tweak is used regardless of reson. What I would do is

• Give each clan 2 tweaks after deadline
  
• Tweak is defined as movement of a player, that is already in the roster. Thus you can add a player for 'free', however removing the old player costs a tweak. This means that swapping two players already on the roster takes two tweaks.
  
  Example, [MASTER lineup update!
  
  Changes:
  
  QB will replace me on 2vs2 Final earth Cost 1 tweak
  I will replace push on 3vs3 Great Lakes Costs 2 tweaks
  QB will replace sephiroth on 2vs2 ME Cost 1 tweaks
  Sum 4 tweaks. Hence this rule is designed to make it easy to replace/add a new player. But swapping two already participating players around takes all tweaks.

@ tbest too much work for the organisators. id say no tweaks allowed. its probably best to not have too much time bewteen the official deadline of giving up the players and the actual start of cl.

^why not just each changed spot is a tweak. So they have 3 changes, 3 tweaks. Otherwise the amount of tweaks could depend on the order of the tweaks. Like If MoD was only in Final Earth, using your system, If QB replaces him in Final Earth, 1 tweak, then he's not in the roster, so he can replace Pushover for 1 tweak, and QB replaces seph... 3 tweaks. And swapping Mod to Great lakes before replacing him in final earth... 4 tweaks.

But I do like the idea. If we gave masters 2 tweaks, they can put QB into the lineup in 2 places, but not move MoD around.

I personally don't see the big deal with a line-up change and hope QB gets to play. But people clearly feel strongly about it, so we should try find a way where everyone's happy. Or atleast most people are happy.

If they want to make this change then perhaps they should be docked points as if they were submitting their line up late?

Before when you talked about lineup changes you were saying for players that go inactive or quite. Grona quit so Timon was added in. Nothing was shuffled. Here everything is shuffled and they are making the changes because they think it will help them out and they want to include QB.

Its not fair to the other clans since everyone had their lineups finalized weeks ago per the deadline that ChrisCMU set with the panel. Plus this whole predictions thread would become skewed and the other Group A clans might want to shuffle up their lineups now too!

@Hades, Ugh, you found a flaw. Anyway, adding some simple restriction could catch that (only allowed to tweak a lineup, once). Also glad you pointed out the purpose, since I forgot to. My intention was to make it easy to add one player twice or two player once. But moving already present players should be limited.

@Turtle, Yes a simple one-point, each day, deduction for late lineups could work. Then however many days late the tweak is, is also the 'points' you have to pay.

Yes, they can be replaced before the RR starts. But it will start without them. I will set a deadline for leaders to replace someone.

I suggest you all communicate your lineup to your clan players and make sure they expect an invite.

We've talked things through with the panel. It's safe to say everyone had a different opinion before we began. After discussing the issue at great length, we have decided that the following rule shall apply:-

A player has to drop completely(give up all their slots) to be considered inactive. This player can then be replaced by another player in the clan as of deadline date. The replacement player can be anyone, whether it be a new player or someone who is already not committed to 3 tournaments.

If someone is already committed to the max number of tournaments(3), they cannot be shuffled around to tweak a clan's line-up.



This issue is due to the fact that we have a deadline, and the tournaments are created a few weeks after the deadline. This is a necessity if we are to have some idea of who to invite when we create the tournaments.

However, things can change in that time period. People leave clans or even Warlight. They may get busy and cannot commit to games. In the interest of a competitive league, it is better if such slots are filled by someone else rather than a clan pick up boots.

Line-ups being known to all and clans tweaking their line-ups based on opponents is a valid concern, but I would like to point out that the line-ups were already known to 3 Group A clans before they submitted their initial roster. It was an error on our part, but it happened all the same. We will address the issue in a more concrete manner for CL9.


All this being said, we aim to create all tournaments within 1-2 days and send invites based on the line-ups submitted. The tournaments will begin on June 15, 11 PM PST. If you have any changes which meet this rule, please send a PM to ChrisCMU/MotD and we will incorporate it as long as they are sent in before June 14th(assuming your replacement is going to join within a day).

I would also like to reiterate that this is not an individual decision. Everyone on the panel agrees with it and thinks is the best way forward.

for me, there are no differences between master QB MOD MOTD .....
SO he can play! it s just a game!
but not all of these changes! it replaces just 2 guys !
of course, if other clan want integrate a player, they can

I just realize while adding players that "GT" is GreenTea. I thought that was a new player when I picked matchups. LOL, I am sure Lynx will do better than I had predicted :)
