Michael Jordan wasn't the greatest ever if you examine his career through some numbers, and is the greatest when viewed through other numbers.

That's only awards, and once you open up the statistics, things change yet again. While the public generally agrees MJ was the greatest Basketball player to play the game, their can be arguments made for other players.
Similar situation here. While you believe you are the greatest ever, arguments can be made for other players, and there is no real way to settle this argument. Knyte is just pointing out that you shouldn't go around self-promoting like an idiot due to the fact that you have losses on your resume that don't help your argument.

@japan In sport it is hard to compare different players if they were not playing in the same times. Technology, material of which equipment is made, better physical knowledge, etc. changes everything.

In my opinion with time with time level of best sportsman narrows down, the differences are smaller and smaller.

In team sport there is also this problem of roles on the field, one may be great in defence other score more points, another have great health and can play whole time every match, yet another is a true leader which makes everyone else do their best.

Here in WL we can just play a couple of 1v1s on different templates and state with a reasonable probability who is better :)

But you ain't the best and by claiming to be the best when you're clearly not, you're only lessening your actual achievements. Humility goes a long way.
