He was not deemed inactive...players like Jinxed who disappeared from WarLight are apparently in their own category as per CL rules.

If the "inactive" players come back before CL ends, does that mean the replacement games don't count anymore?

@ZeroBlindDragon

Thank you for your sympathies. Here's the reply from my contact to the ruling committee:

Hello farragut,
We've spoken about this situation in the CL panel, and unfortunately we cannot allow replaying games where an active player was booted. We had a rule in place to prevent replaying such games. There have been a lot of boots across divisions. If we allow replaying of your games, then we will have to allow replaying all those games for everyone which sets the league back a lot(in terms of time to complete). It is also a logistical nightmare.

The rule for replaying games of a retired player was given as a compromise to all clans(at the start of the season). However, even that rule will be removed next season.

This is probably not what you would like to hear, and I'm sorry.

Cheers,

Thank you for the share! This is what I had imagined... But there seems to be a flaw in this which could be easily exploited: if Stahlgewittern simply claimed you, farragut, had gone inactive from Warlight, then they would have been eligible for replacement games. I just want to applaud you for your honesty and I still believe you should be rewarded your replacement games this time... until this rule is removed for next season.

The replacement games do count. If someone comes back, they cannot participate in the CL this season.

But there seems to be a flaw in this which could be easily exploited: if Stahlgewittern simply claimed you, farragut, had gone inactive from Warlight, then they would have been eligible for replacement games.
This is not true. If you claim someone is inactive on a specific date, only games from that date onward are eligible to be replaced. This prevents clans from retrospectively claiming remakes. The retired player cannot represent the clan again in CL8.

Officially declaring myself (under Rule 6) retired from the Lost Wolves Clan League 8 Division D roster and passing the point of contact torch to japan77. I'll create a new post or edit this post later with details (games to remake w/ start dates, etc. + replacement players for each of my spots) and of course continue any ongoing games (as of the time of this post) to completion.

This is entirely serious; I don't think I can spend much time on this site this semester (or t least I doubt my ability to pull it off enough to take this action). Let me know if there's any reason this cannot be considered a proper Rule 6 declaration.

Any edits to this post will be made strictly below this sentence, to preserve the integrity of the content above. Apologies to HAWKS/etc. who may be hit by some of these remakes (although- again- no ongoing games will be remade and you're free to just autopilot your picks and whatnot and wait for me to get booted; no need to reveal any strategy).

I also agree that it would be better not to make up games. I'm one of the players benefiting from the rule, being able to remake some games because my partner disappeared; but it would be a lot simpler if there were no remakes for anyone period.

ONE needs to replace Mr X in both Europe 3v3 and Great Lakes 3v3. We're going to replace him with Don in both tournaments.

The games in Europe are against VIW and REGL

The games in Great Lakes are against VIW and Blitz

I will post replacement games shortly.

This. There's no real price of admission or prize for clan league, so there's nothing being lost, other than bragging rights, when a boot forces a game's result prematurely. I don't see why super complex systems over retirement and inactivity, with a couple exploitable flaws over it, are necessary.

Way too much value being given to games you can get in and out of completely freely with no actual reward, to the point of overriding probably the only true rule of WarLight, that is the boot timer. Sure, not always it's a person's fault he couldn't play, and sometimes people just aren't in the mood to play, but when there's zero consequence to losing due to a boot, then why is it so necessary to go through all the effort and potential fatal flaws only to re-do a game?

If the need to prove yourself better does exist, just challenge your target to a friendly 1v1 unattached to CL or anything of the kind for that matter.

Miyagi is being replaced by Kenny in apex. He has access to the account, so all games in the tournaments will still count.

Within division B we still have Blitz, VIW and Stahlgewittern without any retirements as far as i'm aware. Not sure about ONE and REGL right now but they might be without retirements as well.

Actually it turns out Kenny can't play, so Miyagi's account will continue to be operated by himself.
