The deadline has passed. There were 29 1v1, 16 2v2, 8 3v3 templates submitted. You can find all of them listed here - https://goo.gl/xT2dzg

I have gone over the entire thread again, just in case there were any last minute edits. We will use the exact settings on the example game provided with the submission. If any submission was overlooked, please let us know immediately so that we can update the list. Any template submissions without a game link have been ignored.

The next phase will involve trimming down this list to a smaller set (12 1v1, 6 2v2, 4 3v3). This will be done by an independent template panel. They may follow some of these guidelines if they wish:
  • Ensure only one template from similar groups(Strat ME/MME, Guiroma/True Guiroma etc). Ideally templates in such groups should rotate across seasons unless there is a distinctly better template in the group)
  • Avoid templates on which games take too long. 20-25 turn games delay the CL considerably.
  • Ensure every template selected can be used in a CLOT (no commanders, bomb cards or any member only feature)
  • Discard templates which result in the same board on every game.

Once we have the trimmed list of templates, all clans in Groups A and B will order these templates from 1-12 with 1 being most preferred and 12 being least. We will then pick the top 6 1v1, 3 2v2 and 2 3v3 templates using the method described in the first post(STV)

Simultaneously, all clans in the Qualifier(QF) pool will also rank these templates in the order in which they want to see these templates feature in Stage 1 and 2 (1 being want to see it in Stage 1, 12 being want to see it Stage 2). After we have resolved the votes from both A and B clans, we will exclude all the templates which weren't chosen, and pick templates for Stage 1 and 2 based on the votes from the QF clans.

We will set a deadline for sending in your votes. If a clan misses that deadline, we will assume that they do not wish to contribute to this process. There will be no extensions for any clan.

Tentative Dates:
  • 12-17 Template panel prunes list of templates
  • 12-21 We verify the templates
  • 1-11 All clans submit their votes on the 12 1v1, 6 2v2, 4 3v3 templates
  • 1-17 Declare results of the vote.
  • 2-1 Submit clan lineups
  • 2-4 Random Draw to determine groups in Qualifiers.
  • 2-11 CL9 begins

tl;dr Check the template list in case your submission was overlooked. Wait for us to tell you what to do next :)

When exactly are the templates for the different stages in Div. C are chosen?

Before or after the clans send in their lineups?

Before lineups are set and before the groups are chosen.

So we know which template will be used in stage 1 and which in stage 2, when we commit our line-up. That is great.

3v3 Great Lakes, same template than last season

Why there is no info in the second post on SR/WR, luck, and Cycle/Random move order ? I think it's important.

More, if you could be perfectly correct, you should put one member of each clan league div A next division in the panel... and if you include one clan of the B, you should include all. Yeah it's a mess, but it's very hard to be perfectly objective - even if it's inconscient - for a clan member.

The template panel doesn't decide what will be played next season. We just cut down the templates to 12 1vs1, 6 2vs2 and 4 3vs3 templates. In the end every A and B clan votes again. If i have to do my work with 10 others, go look for someone else.

you can make 2 independent template panel (it could be small group of 3 or 4 people)
Why is that? Because one group can fail with proper template evaluation like at last WGL that happened

kknd you should know there is a difference between fizzer voting on a template for a seasonal and experienced Players cutting down possible templates for the clan league.

of course you can overcomplicate it and in the end everyone will bash the Panel anyways, no matter the outcome. or you can just let 3 experienced Players divide the trash from the playable templates so the Clans can fuck up the templates on their own again.
