Yes would be good too. That could be done for every season against CL clan winner. 11 templates, 11 games starting at the same time, so this doesnt take long and delay next season.

We have decided on a resolution to the 2v2 China game between ONE and French.

We are still not completely sure that the CLoT assigned the game to the right players, due to the fact that we didn't log the specific players invited. It seems unlikely that Holdway would have missed the game on his dashboard given his activity level and the low number of games he was in at the time.

However, we don't have any evidence of a bug that would have invited the wrong players. The lineups tab of the doc was untouched at that time, and both Ragnarok and Holdway were successfully invited to their next game three days later. In addition, the logs show that the game was created and deleted at the correct time.

In the end, we don't feel that we can justify an exception from our policy of not remaking any games.

In order to avoid this controversy in the future, we will be logging which players are invited to the games, so we can know for sure that the correct players are being invited.

I've just noticed that some templates have open seat prereqs. Could it possibly be that the French vs ONE game didn't happen because Fred from French didn't meet the 45% 2v2 win rate, and the system gave the win to the wrong team like it did to Olympus twice? Fred has exactly 45% win rate atm, he could've fallen under it when the game with ONE happened.

The games with highest prereqs are 3v3 Europe and 2v2 China, none of which was played in Q groups, and A&B players generally have stats good enough to meet the prereqs. That would explain why it wouldn't have been noticed before.

But if everything worked fine, don't mind me. I'm just trying to solve the riddle :D

Prerequisities that are in game settings are in work only for open seats, it doesn't affect who can and who can not be invited by game host.

CLOT could work differently. Example: players must be members to play commander templates, even when invited by CLOT.

While you do need to have all the settings unlocked, open seats prerequisites should not affect how a clot works. So the 45% win rate should not affect anything. That is of course not saying that it didn't affect anything.

Also " In addition, the logs show that the game was created and deleted at the correct time. " So the CloT (I believe, at least) should have failed to make the game if he can't join it. Which was not the case.

Either way, it can't be to hard to test by just making a game with an account that doesn't meet the open seat prereq, but has everything unlocked. Just make impossible prereq and try to invite using a CloT. Just to be 100% sure.

No. This is not possible due to the following reasons:
  • The logs wouldn't say that the game was created in that case. We should see an error on game creation and different log records when a loss is awarded in that fashion. The loss should also be awarded to Fred in that case. The Olympus bug was fixed and it awarded the loss correctly in the next run.
  • I have some special flags I set in that situation and I don't see them.
  • The open seat pre-reqs don't matter at all if you directly invite someone to a game. This is similar to the behavior in the UI where I could set a pre-req of Level 100, but then proceed to directly invite you to the game
  • We have logs indicating that the status of this game was checked every 3 hours for three days and it was always waiting on players. The game status check should fail if the game was "deleted" due to failure at game creation.

Update #20 - May 20th:

I don't update when I want to. Deal with it.

3v3 -
  • Deadman's Rise of Rome:

    • MASTERs quickly defeat French in three turns. Masters continue to catch up to Lynx (who are currently in first place), and it seems that the game between the two - which has just been created - will determine the winner of RoR. French get their second loss, and now have only Outlaws left to play.

    Standings ~ Lynx: 4-0 / MASTERs: 3-0 / French: 3-2 / Outlaws: 1-1 / Turtles: 1-3 / Blitz: 0-3, ONE!: 0-3

  • Europe:

    • No games completed this week.

    Standings ~ Lynx: 3-0 / MASTERs: 2-0, ONE!: 2-0 / French: 2-1 / Turtles: 2-2 / Blitz: 0-4, Outlaws: 0-4

2v2 -
  • China:

    • In their last game on China, French lose to Lynx. French finish with a respectable 3-3, while Lynx move tie with the current max amount of wins currently held by Turtles. However, they still remain in third due to their loss against Turtles earlier in the season.

    Standings ~ Turtles: 4-0 / MASTERS: 3-0 / Lynx: 4-1 / French: 3-3 / ONE!: 1-3 / Outlaws: 1-4 / Blitz: 0-5

  • Guiroma:

    • Outlaws have a good week on Guiroma, defeating both Lynx and the reformed Turtles team. Lynx finish the tournament with an average 3-3 record, while Turtles get an additional loss to their already lackluster performance on Guiroma.
    • Turtles lose another game this week, against French. French continue to do well, with their fourth win bagged (the most out of any team so far), however their head-to-head loss against ONE! continues to keep them in second place. At this point however, they have 2nd place solidly locked in, and only have Masters left to play to guarantee at least a top two finish. Turtles drop to 0-4, and have only Masters and the reigning first place team ONE! left to play.

    Standings ~ ONE!: 3-0 / French: 4-1 / Outlaws: 3-2 / Lynx: 3-3 / MASTERs: 2-2 / Blitz: 1-4 / Turtles: 0-4

  • Final Earth:

    • No games completed at the time of this update.

    Standings ~ MASTERs: 1-0, ONE!: 1-0 / Turtles: 4-1 / Outlaws: 2-2 / French: 1-2 / Blitz: 1-3, Lynx: 1-3

1v1 -
  • Volcano Island:

    • No games completed this week.

    Standings ~ MASTERs: 2-0 / French: 1-0, Lynx: 1-0 / Blitz: 1-1, Turtles: 1-1 / Outlaws: 0-4

  • Guiroma:
Tournament Winner: master of desaster (MASTERs)

    • master of desaster of MASTERs cleans house in Guiroma, by waiting it out for andy's inevitable boot. andy903 of Lynx remains in sixth place with only one win; the other five games were boot-losses. MoD finishes Guiroma with an impressive 6-0.

There is only one game left in Guiroma: the game between ONE! (PJ017) and Turtles (Buns157) to decide 3rd place.

    Standings ~ MASTERs: 6-0 / ONE!: 4-1, Turtles: 4-1 / French: 3-3 / Outlaws: 2-4 / Lynx: 1-5 / Blitz: 0-6

  • Strategic Greece:
    Tournament Winner: AWESOMEGUY (Lynx)

    • No games completed this week.

    Standings ~ Lynx: 5-0 / ONE!: 5-1 / Blitz: 2-2 / MASTERs: 1-2, Outlaws: 1-2 / Turtles: 2-3 / French: 0-6

  • African Elitism:

    • In another critical game, master of desaster of MASTERs defeats Hades of Lynx. MoD now has to win all his remaining games (including the long-awaited rematch of his seasonal game against Buns157) in order to win the tournament, else Hades can still capitalize on AE. Buns is still a dark horse in this competition, but in order to win, he must defeat all his remaining opponents in addition to Hades losing his game vs Bonsai. At the moment, the two most likely to come out on top are still either MoD or Hades.
    • Muli of ONE! drops two more games on AE this week, losing to both Wazz of French and Bonsai of Outlaws. Muli has now finished all games on AE, and will likely remain in fifth place, unless Memele can win all of his remaining games. Bonsai jumps to first place (as he is the last undefeated player in AE), but still has most of his difficult games left to play. Wazz moves to even out his win record with this recent win.
    • Wazz wins another game this week, against Memele of Blitz. Wazz now has a positive win record with his two wins in the past week, and moves into fourth place with a overall record of 3-2. Memele drops to 0-4, and needs to win both remaining games against Turtles and Outlaws if he hopes to place higher than last.

Here is the Hades/MoD game for those interested: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=13369225

    Standings ~ Outlaws: 2-0 / Lynx: 4-1 / MASTERs: 3-1 / French: 3-2 / Turtles: 1-1 / ONE!: 1-5 / Blitz: 0-4

  • Phobia:

    • andy903 of Lynx Darkpies another game (getting tired of using the word "boot") and gives Wini of Blitz a free win. Wini now has an even win record at 2-2, while andy has now gifted four of his opponents free games on Phobia.

    Standings ~ ONE!: 3-0 / MASTERs: 1-0, Outlaws: 1-0 / Blitz: 2-2 / Turtles: 1-2 / Lynx: 0-4

  • Strat ME:

    • Niko of French gets his third straight loss on Strat ME, this time losing to reigning first place champion Krzysztof of Outlaws. Krzysztof furthers his lead, while Niko sinks further into last place.
    • Grizzlis of ONE! defeats USA Biches of Turtles. Biches was booted in the last turn, but was at a disadvantage. However, the game was still rather even, so the outcome could have tipped in Biches's favor had he not gotten himself booted. Grizzlis gains a positive win record with his latest win to move to 2-1, while Biches receives his first loss in Strat ME.
    • In the best game of the week, #Master [QB] of MASTERs defeats Krzysztof. Very well played by both sides, with advantage and disadvantage interchanging between the two players. However, QB eventually came out on top, and creates a three-way tie for second place alongside both ONE! and Lynx who also have a win record of 2-1. QB is also now positioned to win the entire tournament if he is able to win all of his remaining games. It remains to be seen whether andy can contest first as well, or will (more likely) get booted from his remaining games.

Here is the QB/Sneeze game for those interested: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=13469591

    Standings: Outlaws: 3-1 / Lynx: 2-1, MASTERs: 2-1, ONE!: 2-1 / Blitz: 0-1, Turtles: 0-1 / French: 0-3

Current Standings:
Position Clan Points Max Points Change In Position
1st MASTERs 94 220 =
2nd Lynx 106 179 =
3rd ONE! 75 189 =
4th Turtles 74 168 =
5th French 78 159 =
6th Outlaws 56 150 =
7th Blitz 23 109 =
Masters (1) resume their crushing of Division A, having increased their TP by 20 points this week to 94 (rivaling Lynx's TP at 106) and also being completely undefeated while doing so. QB and MoD both pick up crucial wins that put them in the running for first in their respective tournaments, and, in addition to MoD sweeping Guiroma, they are closing in on first place in RoR as well.

Lynx (2) get Darkpied once again, with andy being booted over 10 times, 2 of them coming from this week alone (in fact all of his losses so far have been by boot). In addition, they lose another Guiroma and AE game, which smashes their MP ceiling down by 13 points. This puts Lynx at risk of losing second place, especially if andy continues to Darkpie his remaining games. The only thing that keeps Lynx from getting the "biggest loser" title this week is their one win on China, which offsets their loss on 2v2 Guiroma.

ONE! (3) do modestly this week, with Muli losing two games in AE which are partially offset by Grizzlis's win on Strat ME. They have a net loss of 3 points.

Turtles (4) suffer the worst, by losing 3 games (for a total MP loss of 11) and having no wins to back them up. It seems that Turtles are trying to rival Lynx's title of "worst roster decision," but they'll have to collectively boot in some more games to reach andy's current number.

French (5) do badly this week, only getting one win in an attempt to offset their two team losses. Their net loss in team games amounts to 5 points (their loss in RoR against Masters), however they do have a gain 3 points from 1v1 games due to Wazz's two wins on AE offsetting Niko's loss on Strat ME. In total, French have a net loss of two points this week, but a MP loss of 12 from all their losses this week.

Outlaws (6) continue to do well, only losing one game (albeit a rather critical one in terms of tournament wins), but jumping up 14 points courtesy of two 1v1 and 2v2 wins. They are slowly approaching French's TPP (a margin of now less than 10%), but it remains to be seen whether they can crawl out of their relegation slot.

Blitz (7) surprisingly aren't negative this week; by receiving both a 1v1 win and loss they remain even. However, they are three points away from mathematically being only able to contest second (Lynx's TP is 106, while Blitz's MP ceiling is 109) and look to be the first clan to almost be guaranteed relegation.

The recent duplicate game assigned to 2 clans in Division B proves that the CLOT is not without error.

Personally, I was in favor of allowing a replay of the game between One and French even before this, as nothing could be proven one way or the other. Now that we have proof that the CLOT has at least one error in it that nobody anticipated, I am even more convinced that this game should have been replayed.

I'll be the first to admit when the CLOT has a bug and will do my best to fix it in a reasonable amount of time. But we have logging in place which helps explain events once they are brought to our attention. This bug is not something "nobody anticipated". It's a known issue. See https://www.warlight.net/Forum/244418-clan-league-9-division-b-official-thread?Offset=225 for a detailed explanation of the problem and how we reached that conclusion.

It is also not reasonable to say that since there was a bug on the CLOT, every situation must be resolved by remaking the game. We have already given clear reasons why the ONE/French game will not be remade, and will not revisit this unless we have new information pertaining to this issue.

If you want to criticize people for not being able to anticipate bugs that were not made public to anyone but those in a position to do something about them, then fine, I'm wrong. I apologize for not being clairvoyant.

Also, I agree that not every situation warrants the recreation of a game. However, given all the knowns and unknowns in this specific situation, I believed the recreation of the game was appropriate. I provided a logical and reasonable argument stating why it was justified in this specific situation. However it was the minority opinion among those sharing what was at the time the appropriate inject point to this conversation. Nothing about this incident has changed, other than the actual ruling, which I disagree with, and a separate bug that was allegedly known previously by developers being made publicly known.

What do we do we if every player with a deleted game asks for a remake? Go back and replay some of the QF groups? There is evidence that the game was created. Although it is not clear cut, as far as we're concerned, this game doesn't merit a remake. We'll just have to agree to disagree.

What y'all opt to do in other situations where deleted games are asked to be remade is not directly relevant. The allegation at the center of this incident was that the created game could not be joined, due to errors in either the invitation process or in some combination of the notification process and the dashboard visualization system. The fact that the game was deleted is only pertinent if the cause for it not being joined is immaterial.

Update #21 - May 27th:

I have boycotted my Wednesday score-keeping duties to protest Beren's obvious rigging of CL in ONE!'s favor. Not because I'm lazy.

3v3 -
  • Deadman's Rise of Rome:

    • Outlaws defeat Blitz. Outlaws move to a positive win record at 2-1, while Blitz receives their fourth loss on RoR.
    • Some good news finally for Blitz as they are able to nab their first win against ONE! (who formally shared last place with Blitz). ONE! now falls to an undisputed last place with their fourth straight win in a row, while Blitz is able to stop RoR from becoming another blowout.

    Standings ~ Lynx: 4-0 / MASTERs: 3-0 / French: 3-2 / Outlaws: 2-1 / Turtles: 1-3 / Blitz: 1-4 / ONE!: 0-4

  • Europe:

    • ONE! defeat Blitz. ONE! moves into first place with a total record of 3-0. Blitz has only one more game left to play, against a restructured Outlaws team, which is their last hope of not going winless in yet another tournament.
    • In another highly anticipated match-up (so anticipated that it got its own review), MASTERs beat Lynx for the second season in a row on Europe. With this win, Masters move to tie with ONE! in first place with their third straight win. Lynx falls to second with a 3-1 record.

Here is the review of the game by "Kenny:" https://www.warlight.net/Forum/261733-cl-group-lynx-vs-master-3v3-review

    Standings ~ MASTERs: 3-0, ONE!: 3-0 / Lynx: 3-1 / French: 2-1 / Turtles: 2-2 / Outlaws: 0-4 / Blitz: 0-5

2v2 -
  • China:

    • No games completed this week.

    Standings ~ Turtles: 4-0 / MASTERS: 3-0 / Lynx: 4-1 / French: 3-3 / ONE!: 1-3 / Outlaws: 1-4 / Blitz: 0-5

  • Guiroma:

  • Tournament Winners: Beren • apex and Muli (ONE!)
    • ONE! pick up their first tournament win, securing their victory in Guiroma by defeating the two current lowest teams - Blitz and Turtles. ONE! have one more game, against Outlaws, which will decide whether they sweep the tournament, but this game has no effect on the winner of the tournament. Congratulations to Beren and Muli! Meanwhile, with these losses, Blitz finishes Guiroma with an overall record of 1-5 (their one win coming from Turtles, so they are guaranteed 6th place). Turtles receive their fifth straight loss and have now secured last place (as even if they win their last game against Masters to tie with Blitz's record of 1-5, they have lost the head-to-head match-up against Blitz.). The only thing that remains to be seen for Turtles is whether they will go winless.

    Standings ~ ONE!: 5-0 / French: 4-1 / Outlaws: 3-2 / Lynx: 3-3 / MASTERs: 2-2 / Blitz: 1-4 / Turtles: 0-4

  • Final Earth:

    • French defeat Lynx. French now have an even win record at 2-2, tying with Outlaws in third place, while Lynx are now firmly in last place with an overall record of 1-4.

    Standings ~ MASTERs: 1-0, ONE!: 1-0 / Turtles: 4-1 / French: 2-2, Outlaws: 2-2 / Blitz: 1-3 / Lynx: 1-4

1v1 -
  • Volcano Island:

    • USA Biches of Turtles defeats alexclusive of Lynx. alexclusive gets his first loss and falls to fourth place to tie with Blitz (although he has beaten awesomeusername). Biches moves to third place with his second win on Volcano Island.

    Standings ~ MASTERs: 2-0 / French: 1-0 / Turtles: 2-1 / Blitz: 1-1, Lynx: 1-1 / Outlaws: 0-4

  • Guiroma [FINISHED]:
Tournament Winner: master of desaster (MASTERs)

    • Guiroma is the first tournament to completely finish, with the very interesting showdown between PJ017 and Buns157 ending in a victory for ONE!. PJ finishes Guiroma in second place with an impressive 5-1, while Buns finishes third with an overall 4-2 record. Also, the final results for Guiroma are very nice in general. Patterns!

Here is the game between PJ/Buns for those interested: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=13427731

    Standings ~ MASTERs: 6-0 / ONE!: 5-1 / Turtles: 4-2 / French: 3-3 / Outlaws: 2-4 / Lynx: 1-5 / Blitz: 0-6

  • Strategic Greece:
    Tournament Winner: AWESOMEGUY (Lynx)

    • linberson of Blitz defeats Master Jz of MASTERs. linberson moves into third place with an overall positive win record of 3-2, while Jz gets her third straight loss on Greece (since her auto-win against Marechal Lannes at the start of the tournament) which currently puts her in second-to-last place.
    • Krzysztof of Outlaws defeats AWESOMEGUY of Lynx. This game has no bearing on the tournament winner, as AG (I) has (have) still won the head-to-head match-up against second place once again PJ). However, Krzysztof does even out his win record with this win, and has an overall record of 2-2 so far.

    Standings ~ Lynx: 5-1 (1-0) / ONE!: 5-1 (0-1) / Blitz: 3-2 / Outlaws: 2-2 / Turtles: 2-3 / MASTERs: 1-3 / French: 0-6

  • African Elitism:

    • The best game of the week comes courtesy of the rematch between master of desaster of MASTERs and Buns157 of Turtles on AE (since Buns defeated MoD on the AE seasonal). Some very nice moves overall here which culminated in a victory for MoD (and a very nice game to review). Hopefully they play each other again in some other competitive format to finally determine who the better player is on AE. However, what this win entails for AE in CL is that MoD is now in a prime position to win AE, as long as he defeats (the currently undefeated) Bonsai. There is still the potential for Bonsai or Hades to win, so it will be a while before the winner of this tournament is finalized. What is certain is that Buns is now out of the race for first place.

Here is the MoD/Buns game: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=13404495

    Standings ~ Outlaws: 2-0 / Lynx: 4-1, MASTERs: 4-1 / French: 3-2 / Turtles: 1-2 / ONE!: 1-5 / Blitz: 0-4

  • Phobia:

    • No games completed this week.
