Quick update:

With FCC and HYDRA at 41 total points, and Olympus at 39 max points, Olympus earns the dubious distinction of being the first clan to become eliminated from qualifying for Division C and subsequent promotion to B. This has happened a little over two and a half weeks in to play.

Fantastic updates btw Aura , quite a few games finished in Q1 and the picture forming is basically what most people expected (wish CLA would go as fast). Seems like Hydra are having a slight bump and with FCC few boots ACME did get a better chance but I expect Hydra will pull there finger out in team games like Bennoit suggested. Doubt there will be more than 20 points between #1 and #3 at the end. Just some rought thoughts :P

Data Summary:

Horse Race:

Progression:

Overview:
This division has progressed rapidly, with the exception of ACME. In week three, even ACME has really started to complete its games, however. This week sees HYDRA and ACME both win 2 2v2s a piece, with ACME securing a (premature?) victory over FCC, as well. In addition, this week sees pardon99 continuing to roll, beating ACME on their template as well, as well as sloppyfatginger providing FCC a suprising victory of his own vs HYDRA. The FCC is absolutely trying its utmost to make up for the Nauzhror Boots, which still continue to haunt them. Poon Squad continues to chug along, doing fairly respectably, with Andresso and Matrixh both beating Respectable opponents from HYDRA and ACME, respectively. FBG is beginning to rack in losses without many victories, and would be considered the worst performing in Q2 or Q3, if they were there instead. However, they have Olympus to save them from having such a title, who also find themselves in the unfortunate position of being eliminated from contention to Division C.

Clan by Clan:

ACME:
ACME has picked up the pace, gathering some 1v1s and 2 2v2s to their belt. Their victory over FCC, while expected, was significant in a tight race.

FCC:
FCC rebounds this week, with pardon99 proving to be a stalwart for them. In addition, sloppyfatginger not so sloppily cleans up after Nauzhror, going 3-0 and finishing FCC at 3-2 in 1v1 ME 0% WR.

FBG:
FBG goes 1-1 this week. Its becoming apparent that they may be at a level below Poon Squad, However.

HYDRA:
Hydra should be careful in their situation. Even if they have stronger team games, the fact that they are weighted only 50% of the score in the qualifiers does not bode well for them. They will have to win big here, and even a single loss on either the 2v2 or 3v3 vs ACME or FCC could prove devastating.

The Poon Squad:
Poon Squad is definitely upsetting at this point. They don't have the beef compared to the rosters put out by the Tier I clans, however, they are definitely a group to walk gingerly around.

Olympus:
I think they speak for themselves.

Game of the Week: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=12895110 (ACME vs Poon Squad)

This game is interesting since it was an upset of ACME by Poon Squad. Matt431 undervalues an FTB, and it burns him in this game. From that point on, the game is pretty much no contest, as Poon Squad runs away with the victory. Alongside Poon Squad's victory in 1v1 guiroma vs HYDRA, and the boot victory vs Nauzhror, the Tier I clans sit even in this metric- but should be very careful playing against them in the future.

Quick Update: FBG is, after several losses, distancing themselves away from the group, and now is only four points away from being eliminated from contention. In any other group they would be the worst performer, but Olympus saves them from that distinction.

Quick Update:

The FCC secures its second tournament victory, on Volcano Island, with a win over Hunta. Pardon99 ends his Q1 work with a stellar 10-0 record! Congratulations pardon, you definitely did your duty!

FBG sits a precarious two points away from mathematical elimination from contention.

With that, the picture is becoming a bit less cloudy:

HYDRA now sits 8 points behind FCC and 9 behind ACME. Besides a Hydra/ACME on volcano island and a few more old strat ME games by ACME, the 1v1 picture for the realistic contenders is just about finished. Assuming ACL wins his games against Bayern Munchern is the Best! and Hera, that means that the likely finishing values will be FCC (39), HYDRA 24/27, and ACME 27/30. In either case, FCC, as was predicted by many, showed their strength in 1v1 play. Many view that Hydra's main strength is team game play, so it will be interesting how things work out as the 1v1 aspect fades into the background.

If we consider nauzhror's 3v3 boots, though, FCC is -2 compared to HYDRA, so its still going to be a close race either way.

Data Summary:

Horse Race:

Progression:

Overview:
This division continues to chug along at its uncanny pace, to the point where competition is starting to wind down. 1v1s are almost over, and the focus will shift to team games in the coming weeks as they slowly complete. FCC, ACME, and Hydra continue their dogfight with each other, while Poon Squad continues its slow sink. FBG and Olympus are now both eliminated from contention. Its definitely going to be an exciting finish as this division draws to a close!

Clan by Clan:

ACME:
ACME continues the Catch-up phase, and is pushing through the feeder wins at a slower pace than that of FCC and Hydra. I suspect this trend to continue.

FCC:
FCC sits steady this week, finishing up their 1v1 play altogether. Its team games from here on out: They have 7 games left.

FBG:
FBG sees itself get eliminated from contention. However, I don't think they have to be worried about being the worst performer.

Hydra:
With 5 games left, things are winding down on the HYDRA side of things. They definitely sped through this clan league at a very rapid clip. And yeah, things are coming down to the wire as we speak.

The Poon Squad:
The Poon Squad is hanging onto their thin promotion chances. Kudos to them for holding onto the dream with such tough competition. They hold onto hope while all is lost in FBG and Olympus.

Olympus:
So uh... yeah.

Game of the Week:

Nothing was perking my interest enough for a GoTW. Most of the wins have been run of the mill.

Your clan simply has to finish in the first two places to get to C. There is no disadvantage between first and second. You just need to be in one of those two slots to promote.

Data Summary:

Horse Race:

Progression:

Overview:
Q1 is winding down after 4 weeks of fierce and active competition. With the 1v1s pretty much done, focus is now reoriented on team play. Its a critical factor here as the races continue to be extremely tight between the three remaining contenders. As predicted, a close race between Hydra, ACME, and FCC have ensued.

Clan by Clan:

ACME:
ACME takes several hits this week, losing a 3v3 Deadman game to Poon Squad and also a 1v1 against HYDRA. If it were not for Nauzhror's boots (ACME benefited most from them), you could even speculate as to whether they would be even be able to compete at this point.

FCC:
Quiet week for FCC with one completed game vs a tier 2 clan. Slower than ACME this week. Have to deal with the close battle, though.

FBG:
FBG feels... well old. Their philosophy prevents them from injecting new blood. They are here for the casual playing it seems. Too bad you can't win games in this league playing casually... unless you are fighting Olympus...

Hydra:
Hydra wins a critical game vs ACME, finally getting a much needed win against a "top tier" team. They have, however, been the best thus far about cleaning up games against the lower tier clans, allowing to stay within fighting distance.

The Poon Squad:
Although eliminated at this point, they gave a good fight. And they continue to give a good fight. I commend them for their spirit.

Olympus:
Now I understand how the commentators feel about commentating on the worst team in the NFL power rankings. Happy I don't have to write that.

Game of the Week: https://www.warlight.net/MultiPlayer?GameID=12843221

This may be ugly, but I think it was a critical match-up. The 3v3 loss to Poon Squad By ACME is critical points that they do not need to lose at this point. They need to be careful in the rest of their games from here on out.

Data Summary:

Horse Race:

Progression:

Overview:
After week 5, all 1v1 play has been completed in Q1 of Cl9. This week has been quiet, but rather pivotal, as any of the three remaining clans capable of going on to C have to play carefully, as there are not many points left to go around in this tight race. Unfortunately for ACME, they seem to slowly be falling behind.

Clan by Clan:

ACME:
ACME finally secures the win against FCC courtesy of Nauzhror, however, someone on their side forgets to join the game against Olympus, meaning they take a huge 5 point blow they could have easily avoided. They are now sitting ducks threatening to fall off the edge.

FCC:
FCC drops the game against ACME, but all they have to do now to secure promotion is to win against FBG, Olympus, and Poon Squad, and one of their two team games against Hydra, OR just beat FBG, Olympus and Poon Squad if ACME drops the 2v2 guiroma game. It looks like in spite of Nauzhror's best efforts, they are doing fine.

FBG:
FBG Silently wins against Olympus in the background, reminding us that even they are above the ineptitude that Olympus showed us.

Hydra:
Hydra is at 54 points. In order to secure promotion, all they have to do is beat ACME in both Deadman's Rome and 2v2 Guiroma.

The Poon Squad:
Poon Squad loses its last 1v1, and also the last 1v1 of Q1. They have finished all games against the contenders except deadman's 3v3 against FCC at this point. It was a good run for them.

Olympus:
Olympus secures last position in Q1 of Cl9. And to cap it off:

Nothing really worth mentioning this week...
