What are all your thoughts on it? I think the Mountain vs. Viper, the back-stab,and Arya's laugh were the biggest highlights of the episode.

As a fan of good entertainment, I loved it. As a fan of the books? I'm pissed.

Oberyn used "Dance around"
The Mountain is confused.

The Mountain used "Swing my sword randomly"
It's not very effective.

Oberyn osed spear to the leg.

It's not very effective.

A critical hit!

It's sup... OMFG stop that!

Tyrion lost the battle.
Tyrion whited out.

It was an explosive episode. Just bursting with plot twists. It felt really good to watch, like the popping of a big zit.

Is this where people who have read the books tell you what is going to happen in the next episode?

Na, I'm not here for spoilers, just saying that some of the stuff this season just doesn't match up with the book, which for a fan of the books is more than irritating. (Anyone see the Eragon movie a few years back?)

I'm also a bit upset about the timeline. The Producers said that Season 4 would be the second half of book 3, and have a few timeline elements of book 4. But on top of that, they've changed the order of things from the book, added things that never happened (Bran at Craster's), and even took parts of the 5th book (Bolton's Bastard's conquest). I feel lied to.

Haha, I wouldn't do that to you all, but it is very amusing to watch everyone lose their mind about things that I already knew were going to happen.

I have read the books and i actually wonder how much they will still try to follow it, on the previous seasons the plot already diverged somewhat from the books, and there was some online talk on disagreements with the series producer and the writer of the books himself (i reckon he helps with the screenplay somehow) regarding what they were doing with the characters. Apparently the book scattered on too many characters at the same time and the tv series will be more focused on the ones already important. curious to see how that will work out.

On the book Arya Stark doesn't laugh at the news of her dead aunt, she doesn't even reach the gates of the veil afaicr.

Wonder how things will develop.

I did not read the books, however I think that changes to the screenplay are a conscious decision to keep those who read the books entertained.

*SPOILER* Tyrion is the witch of the wastes...

*Spoiler* Ned reappars as the headless horseman, except he's riding Godzilla! He loses a battle to the wicked witch of the south, and the last cutscene shows a bunch of winged monkeys crowning Tyrion.

*SPOILER* Joffrey turns into an ice zombie and clubs Tyrion with Theon's frozen ... sausage.

But really, I think that Dany is looking more and more like Rob Stark. Rejecting allies, trusting strangers... I really don't want her to die, but if Grey Worm wants to marry Missandei... You can guess what happens at the wedding. I just wonder who would keep those dragons in check if Dany were to die. They are barely controlled as they are, but if they just go roaming around burning the Dothraki Sea they will probably get hunted down and killed. Or maybe a dragon escapes, eats Daario, roams around until Mormont captures it, brings it back to Dany and finally gets launched out of the friendzone?
I'm just a guy who hasn't read the books thinking out loudly. Don't you dare spoil or I will definitely succumb to a bout of loud cursing and arm flailing and swearing oaths about what I intend to do to you, although I am sure I will later find most of my intentions physically impossible.

On the topic of Author vs Producer. There are 2 people in charge of the show, and the Author of the books, G.R.R.M. has told them how he plans the rest of the series to go, including book 6 and 7. He was actually behind some of the "shifts" that were made in the first 2 seasons, to focus on characters that he wished he had spent more time developing and to remove some of the needless plot lines. But IMO the changes in this season are FAR above and beyond any of the tweaks made before.

The series will probably stray more from the books from now on as the books and the Tvseries won't have the same ending.

Anyone else who likes seeing Sansa evolve from the naive little girl she was? :P I liked how they really highlighted that this episode

I love me some (loyal) Reek, how he wasn't mentioned in the higlights makes no sense to me.

That ending though, didn't want Oberyn to die :/

I like Reek more then Theon.....
