We all know people base the majority of these rankings on 1vs1 results by comparing players individually.
What people tend to forget is that an alliance isn't supposed to be just the sum of it's players. Factors which also factor in is their stability as a team and their performance when playing together.
While I think the average Apex player might be just slightly better then the average Relite player on 1vs1 strat, I would argue that in teamgames an average random team of 2 or 3 Relite players versus an equal amount of Apex players would win.

With regards to WM, they're indeed suffering from the loss of some active players. I used to know and recognize half of them, but so far there's only 4 of them I can really remember. Good players, but apart from Gnuffone not really a group which I would prescribe such an impact factor.

Gnuffone is overrated

Apex: laomao obtained the best 1v1 result in the first clan league if i remember right. He is underrated, but overall a complete good player.

My list:

1. Apex and WM

even despite a few players like Trilussa, Artham, Tauceti and Szeweningen retired, we are still strong

2. ɌeLite

mainly not due to skill, but simply because a few bad apples make some really bad PR for you. btw you guys DO have a few bad players in the clan but let's not start another bashing fest.. (bad like in relatively bad compared to WM/apex level - still better than average warlight player of course)

3. AHoL and WG

AHoL so low, because they seem to get less and less active these days, which has visible impact on their gameplay.. (in fact i personally have the same problem at the moment tbh)
WG so high on the other hand, because they improve very fast

4. REGL{cs}, 101[lynx], CK

because these are the only groups that i know of that are capable of beating the abovementioned from time to time

5. VIW, CPU, WL, FBG,

because i remember some good games with people from those. CPU and VIW would end up one point higher, but they have to many bad players and AFAIK unlike regl, or 101st they don't have an elitist group so i cannot be more specific, and i decided not to judge those clans by the strongest link

6-59.

nothing besides individual players, but in my opinion it should not be treated as an overall determinant of clan quality

60. still nothing...

61-99. nothing here as well..

100. all the other clans

I think I'd put Apex slightly ahead of WM right now based on the retirements, but I could see either winning the clan league.

I could see AHol and/or WG ahead of ReLite in the clan league as well, only because there is less depth in that clan. I don't know how many players they are using though. WG is using EVERY player that is active rather than just trying to stack with the best players. IMO, depth counts in a clan. One reason to be in a clan is to improve your level of play by being with other good players. I seriously doubt the top two in ReLite gain any benefit there from the rest of their clan.

Well, you lost 4 players (didn't know one of them personally), and Apex gained a couple good players. I also think their presence on the ladders is better right now (like WM was a few months ago). To me that breaks the tie.

Like I said, I wouldn't write you off from #1 spot in this clan league though.

It is debatable both WM and Apex are obviously the best clans, they are just as good as each other. You both are capable of being number 1

Rankings are about clan strength at the moment, or overall / average throughout the last year or so?

If we look at longer time interval, I think WM should be first, without any doubt.
It have most players that reached 1st spot in the 1vs1 ladder, more than any other clan, and in total they hold 1st spot for the longest period of time. No other clan occupied spots 1-4 on the 1vs1 ladder, and top 2 at 2vs2 ladder. And WM maintain very high average level since more than 2 years, longer than any currently existing top clan.

If we talk only about current situation, I have no idea which clan is the best. I would say that best five seems to be: Ahol, Apex, Relite, WG, WM.

1-2 Apex, WM

These two groups are really too close to distinguish much. I do know if I'm playing matches I'm more scared if I see an apex name come up than if I see a WM clan. I've been in both groups and if I had to pick I would think that WM might have one or two better players, but as a group apex would take the cake. Either way, they are too close to choose between.

3-4 AHoL, Relite

These groups play very differently and have different levels of activity. AHoL was created as a bunch of drunkards and a-holes so it's surprising they all ended up being as good as they are. I love the group though, wouldn't trade them for anything. Relite has good players and very bad PR. Relite overall is a good group though, I wouldn't discount them in the least because of their public relations people. AHoL on the other hand pulled off a surprising (and awesome for us) third place in the clan league, coming in first in the 3v3 tournament and a couple second places in others.

5-6 [WG], REGL

I don't especially know either of these groups well. I know WG has at least a few good players and more above average than not. REGL has their CS team which has good players in it, though they have also recruited (from what I remember last I checked them out) from the other end of the spectrum. I would be interested to see how they fared against each other in a clan battle. The CS team from REGL recently played against us and we edged them out but it's not like they just laid down and took a beating. We had to do everything we could to beat them.



Of course these are just my opinion but I feel it is a valid one. The groups are honestly too close which is why I ranked them in groups of two. On any given day I would say that most members of either group could beat most of the other group. Even between my groupings I believe that on any day members from AHoL or Relite could take most apex or WM players, but in a longevity contest with many many games, I believe they would end up close to this.

I'm excited to see where the clan league takes all the groups this year and what the final rankings will be.

Noobschool - WM has come a long way from when you were in it.. nevertheless i agree with most you say and in 1v1 i'm usually more afraid of apex. in teamgames - it depends - i would say WM. but both clans have their favourite templates and game types and both consist of very good players.. i would not dare to say we have only two ;)

I agree pretty much with Noobschool for the most part, although the assumption "though they have also recruited (from what I remember last I checked them out) from the other end of the spectrum" is somewhat true, but a little off the mark. We have recruited some members from the lower end of the spectrum, but most of our members that we've recently recruited are more "average". Some are at the low end (although they understand the game and can play well enough), but then there are also those like Nich who have proven that they can compete at a higher level.

REGL is regrettably going through some issues of low activity, especially in our CS division, so we won't be able to accept new challenges at this time. We plan on being able to compete more in the near future.

we have 3 players, maybe you guys can field 3 players too and we have a few games? I played a few 3v3s against entire CS teams not long ago, maybe i can talk to them?
