The trouble is proper moderation abilities require a fair amount of development to the boards. It isn't easy to just say give player x N powers. The powers may not exist at all, or as kynte said you have to be very careful with who you give powers to. There has to be some way to keep mods accountable. My suggestion is to create a report/trash/etc forum hidden to all but mods/admins that a mod could move a thread (ideally just a post) to. That way nothing is lost (Fizzer could easily undo it), but would allow for the general public not to see inappropriate content.

Other tools could be developed as needed over time, but a one way move for current mods would suffice to prevent legal issues while also keeping some transparency. That way mods don't go on a power trip without Fizzer knowing.

That's why the suggestions does not including suspensions or bans, a moderator that is using his power to troll can't really do much other than delete threads (ideally not even delete, just hide and lock are already enough).

So? Really, if these powers "don't even exist at all" Fizzer might just want to scrap this forum and use some cheap/free forum hosting service like Invision or something like that. It's definetely more effective and in-depth, less effort for him, more features for us, everyone is happy.

There's little to no way you can make people happy reducing the effort spent, so blocking images out if anything is not a solution.

Yeah, the features on this site may need some work, but what really sucks are the people. I don't even do much for WL but it's very tempting to quit even that. There's plenty of more interesting projects out there for much more deserving (or at the very least, much more grateful) people.

I'm surprised at this point that Fizzer hasn't just moved on. If he's single-handedly developed all of this, he can probably move to SanFran and go corporate easily (it's not a hard market out there for people who actually know how to code).

It's great to make something that lets you interact with users- but not if the users are complete dicks.

Fizzer probably gets a pretty good profit from this game, while working at most, 2 hours every day. Why would he need to do more work when he lives comfortably, albeit notoriously? I don't know about you, but if Fizzer gets his feelings hurt by some criticism, some building, others not, well, I doubt that.

That's ridiculous beyond belief. You can disagree with him civilly on his opinion of Fizzer, but to blacklist him for sharing this opinion is tyrannical at best. Save the blacklist for people who actually deserve it, like those who posted the offensive images that got the rest of the WL community punished.

2 years, give or take, the community will basically be the same people that are here defending Fizzer, except they will be complaining about not having updates in the past year, all open games will be exploiters finding a way to cheat points out of low levels and pretty much the WarLight community will be going down as every single newcomer comes by and says "no updates? cheaters everywhere? no welcoming person to teach me? wtf im bailin".

This happens literally every game based on community interaction, specially faster in browser games, and Fizzer is snowballing on that direction, but appearently I can't complain because "coding is hard". Talk about excessive trust.

Yeah, Fizzer used a sledgehammer when he could've used a screwdriver. But screwdrivers take work, and it probably makes more sense to invest that in actual features.

Good Luck Fizzer, I like Warlight, although I do not support nor agree what you have done with it in past year! Don´t like the new direction at all! Secondly community ain´t worth a penny here!

Let me know if this becomes Real-Strategy game with decent community.. would be willing to pay double what you ask now! Meanwhile I will play as freerunner and opt for better Strategy Games!
