Yeah, Fizzer used a sledgehammer when he could've used a screwdriver.

Sledgehammer would've been sending tons of punishment all over and end it through brutality. What fizzer did is more like using a goddamn bazooka where he could've used a screwdriver.

But screwdrivers take work, and it probably makes more sense to invest that in actual features.

Such as new, unnecessary and more visually polluted card images "because yes"? Naw, I think it makes more sense to just add some moderation to the forums. But y'know... The roadmap. Which probably includes going down a cliff.

Maybe the roadmap is one of those dances that bees do to tell each other where flowers are.

I can personally attest to Fizzer being a pretty good guy. I don't have a lot of contact with him, but what contact I've had, he's been very helpful and surprisingly personable with me.

Fizzer, if you need to take on some emergency investors to keep this site going while working on the Google thing, let me know. Myself (and most likely others also) would be willing to help.

Lol. This isn't Facebook guys or some tech startup. No one's going to be investing in WL IPOs in a decade. I'm sure he'll get Google to reverse the decision once he shows him his new content control feature. This update is more probably to appease Google then to actually fix negative or inappropriate postings on WL.

I'd like everyone to know that I've never posted a picture never mind a sexual Japanese one, I'm just as ticked off as the rest of you; but we can live without posting pictures, can't we ?

Well according to some players on here I have the right to critique Fizzdog because I bought a membership and a clan so here's my two cents for what its worth. I think Fizzer is a nice enough guy, not that it matters, but his priorities are a little wacky. I don't see how the card images, which I dont believe was uservoiced, was rushed out in lieu of other uservoiced requests. I personally would like to see how many hours till booted or more tournament control, but thats just me.

I don't think the card images were rushed out; iirc, WL made a posting seeking a designer a long while ago (at least early summer '15) and it seems like this Sam Trout guy came out of that process.

As someone who's actually worked in community management before for several games/sites, deleting/locking threads is a worst-case scenario. We do not need trigger-happy moderators to be given power to delete/lock threads, because that is exactly how you start disincentive the community from posting content. Nor can you give that person the power to 'hide' the threads until they can be reviewed by someone with the legitimate power (fizzer/mercer). The best way to handle this is to quickly get rid of abusers through an automatic system, but Fizzer has no reason to build such a system unless the overload gets too high.

@Everyone bashing fizzer, as knyte said even programming and maintaining a game of this scale solo is nearly insane, I know I would probably mentally break down from attempting to do this in under a week, I hosted a complex arcade server for my friends, and have trouble maintaining that.

Generally most games at around this size have a team, not a solo or pair of programmer(s). Fizzer has Mercer, and that's it, and as many have noticed Mercer is not extremely active.

Also, as a person who has done a bit of coding, I can assure you that even getting the game to this state and maintaining it probably required well over 30 hours a week on Fizzer's part.
