I'm not concerned at all about not being able to in-line images. I don't really care, seeing as people can always click on links to images.

What I am concerned about is the ads >_< If they don't come back soon, you're going to have to make some budget cuts, Fizzer (perhaps the 100 free coins could be removed? some people abuse it and 10 cents for every account past level 15 adds up to a lot, I think)

well it's against the rules to even have the two accounts with coins on them to start with.

Well, this does not surprise me at all. I've been reporting images of naked people for a while on here, since I am powerless to actually remove them.

The report will help, but there still remains the issue that only Fizzer and Mercer can actually do anything about the reports, right?

He has plenty of it, that's why images were blocked in the first place. Because he refuses to moderate his own website and/or make anything to stop the trolls.

I'm pretty sure a twelve years old could come up with a better solution than Fizzer. That was a completely lazy and in every way stupid update. Shows how much he doesn't care for the "serious topic" in question.

So an idea I had a while ago was building and enforcing community guidelines that actually punish trolls. Not on the part of Fizzer, but through the adoption of a common standard that we can use to track and report offenders.

I know that at least a few clans have common blacklists- the old CORP one, for example, tracked PEs, trolls, and occasionally forum scammers (and its standard required a link for some sort of verification).

If we expand something like that to the entire WL community, we can track offenses, their dates, their exact nature, and with some degree of verification (a link, and possibly some sign-off on the part of some trusted group or as a decentralized community-run mechanism). A server with some API endpoints that let you query with a player ID and find out their "permanent record" with some categories of offenses so you can know enough about them to do something.

It'd have to be executed very carefully, but it's something that I initially had in mind for IPL- to suspend players that hurt the community. Clan League could implement that as well (and use it for alt-tracking, possibly), and over time clans could adopt the standard as well.

The issue is that a lot of trolls aren't here for the game- they suck at it and instead come here for the community. We can't really do more than what Fizzer's already got in place when it comes to kicking them out of the game, but as a community we can certainly do a lot more to exclude harmful players.

Would anyone actually use an OpenBlackList like this, though?

Fizzer doesn't "refuse" to moderate the website. He's just hella strapped for resources and just trying to allocate them in the way he thinks will serve the community best. The report button was probably on his to-do list for a long time but some idiots finally forced his hand.

Stop giving him a hard time. He's far from a lazy dev- if he thinks something will genuinely help players/the community, I can speak from experience that he actually does develop it in a very short timespan.

But it's just hard to please everyone, and harder yet when they're being complete assholes to prove a point they don't even understand.

seriously. i wished fizzer had more time for updates and stuff. but that's impossible if some Kids Keep doing stupid stuff like reporting People for no reason, post crap on the Forums, cgeat on the game etc. i can understand when fizzer loses Motivation to improve his game like that.

Edit: Knyte your idea might not be bad, but i feel like it would have no use in the end. Blacklisted Players can still comment on a thread i created for example. And i think the Players who talk shit are mainly not into competitive games. So excluding them from leagues won't help a lot probably.

How can anyone even take Fizzer seriously? Really, you'd be better off without an administrator of any sorts, he's pretty much the Night Shyamalan of the forums - if anything can be done wrong, it will, if not, it will anyway.

I can only see three plausible reasons to defend Fizzer after this:

1) He pays you
2) You have too much hope in Fizzer
3) You're brain dead.

I never sent that report to start with, I wrote it and screenshot it for some people to laugh. LAUGH! Which is what you're supposed to be doing when looking at Fizzer "working" on his game. Laughing. Because Fizzer is, day after day, becoming more of a joke.
