We in VS are always quiet. We tend to prefer our play and our results to do the talking. I do feel that perhaps we are getting a reputation as stand-offish a bit or that maybe we might perceived as not overly friendly. I want to dispel that. We love warlight, we love the challenges and we love to chat in games. We don't like to get in war of words and aren't necessarily the clan that will go around trumpeting our play (except in inter-clan battles. In those we are merciless with each other).

I personally would like to thank Great Expanse for the updates. Especially the last couple. This Clan League format is a lot of fun.

I would also like to say is I am very impressed with M'Hunters play. They are clearly a very worthwhile opponent and we as a clan recognize this. VS are of course still planning to do everything we can to overtake them before the end of the season. How is that for some VS smack talk? Best I can do.

The fact that guys of team VS don't make fools of themselves on forums, don't say rude stuff and don't troll in general don't make them unfriendly to me but on the contrary, they give me a good impression of the clan. I am pretty sure other people think like me.

@Rogue Nickoli Krogius, I haven't been concerned about Hydra's 3v3 record because it really isn't bad. We are (0-2) on 3v3 EU, and that's about it. We've lost 2 games against M'Hunters and CORP. The EU M'Hunters team I knew we would lose and the CORP game was a disappointment. Add to that Hydra just won a game on Great Lakes so we are (1-2) on 3v3s now. M'Hunters and VS are winning the majority of the games so far, meaning everyone else is going to have a number of loses. I am not concerned about our 3v3 performance.

@Darren, I have had almost zero interaction with VS in my 1 1/2 years on warlight. Add to that this quote I've read on your clan page:

We are not about growing the VS Clan just for the sake of growing it. We are always willing to add new members if they seem well suited to our philosophy, and if we like them. So, if you want to join, get to know one (or more) of us. All prospective members must be sponsored by an existing member, and that only happens if you know them well. It may take time, but once you are a member of VS, you will see that it was totally worth it...

That clan page recruitment statement is very closed down and don't want people to apply. I gives off a standoff-ish vibe that VS are only concerned with themselves. I may have played 1 or 2 games against VS and the extent of the interaction was 'gg'. I'm not saying what I dislike VS at all, you are a very level headed clan, but its as it you are a ghost sometimes or lack a personality.

@Benoit, you know VS better then me since you play games with a few VS players. This just an outsiders opinion of the clan. Being quiet like VS comes across as being isolationist.

I actually know a lot of VS members, from before VS even existed. I played a lot of RT games with them, mostly with my alt Windows 10/Blightsteel, and also ran into them in a lot of tournaments (especially RoR).

By the way I love the RoR map, I think it would be great to use it as a 3v3 template for the next CL (I'm not sure who chooses the templates).

We just got 4 boots losts tho recently :(. If 101st gets in A, be assured that I'll try everything I can to get a good ROR template 3v3 in!!

I don't like much the fact that only division A can vote on the templates as many other clans depend on the voting process but I can understand why it is like that. It can give an extra incentive to try to get into division A to be able to vote for the definitive templates to be used. I have heard though that some clans in division A are more tempted to vote strategically (meaning, voting for the templates that gives them an advantage over an other clan of division A) rather than vote for the coolest template available. I think for now only the coolest templates should be voted in but who knows, I might change my opinion if 101st gets in Division A lol.

just wanted to jump in here.... are you saying VS Is stand-offish because we are an tight-knit, elite group of warlight players and friends simply because we don't want to invite guys that we don't have connections or relationships with?

Team VS is cool and guys there are nice...I was too lazy and impatient to get throught the hard recruitment process though :P. I'll just stick with playing with them when I have the occasion! :)

@rocky1, I think my point has been misunderstood. VS isn't standoffish; its that I, myself only, have had zero interaction with VS. And I took one statement on the VS clan page to be that the clan wasn't interested in new players. Now, does that mean VS is standoffish? No. I am only pointing out my interaction with VS, which is how I make my own opinions of others, was influenced by me having no idea what VS is about other then your clan page.

There's only like 18-20 clans on this site that actually recruit. Nothing wrong with being a tight-knit community that's not open to all of WL.

I guess its just that we operate differently and in different circles meaning our paths haven't crossed before. I know people in Hydra have played and know VS players, just I haven't interacted with VS players.

Nice rocky. Why shouldn't we start another clan battle! We have recently completed a clan battle vs the French Community, which we won btw in a very close 23-20 score ;-)

One-on-one clan battles can be a lot of fun.

And yes I acknowledge our clan recruitment process is slow and not easy, but we really know and trust every clan member to the point that every single clan member has manager rights to our clan. As such you can imagine we won't just invite anyone to join. We are not the Darklords and couldn't care less how many members we have so long as we have enough to participate in inter-clan battles and Clan League.

I have also heard 'complaints' that clans such as ours are not helping Warlight overall since we don't bring in new members and train them up to be competent Warlighters like some other clans do. I acknowledge that but say that quite simply I play Warlight to relax and enjoy myself, and other than teaching my 8 year old son how to get better I am just more interested in playing with high-level players.

Most of the players in our clan came originally from the 'G Clan' and have played together for 3+ years. We have brought in new members recently but we are in no hurry to make it a 30+ member clan. So yes by definition we are an elite clan. We also require a high level of play to join and quite honestly I myself might not pass that bar if I was trying to join right now :)

I know each and every member in our clan well enough to know their strengths and weaknesses on various templates...except INSIDE, I still haven't found a weakness in his play ;-)

I hope that gives people a better view into the inner workings/origins of VS.
