The two people I'm currently in-game seasonal with have been stalling for weeks now, it's very aggravating.

I think Farah has me beat, though I'd like to take a couple turns and see if I could maybe do a comeback. But he delays it 'till the last second before actually taking his turn.
Lol, you're about to get eliminated. It's 11-5 income wise, 15-5 next turn. Good luck with your comeback! If you wanted to know why i played slow, should've just asked; i'm renovating a house.

ACL your just being a *** for making this forum post. You really lost my respect for blaming someone to stall one turn while you play every turn till now Slow. I think MisterT could have made like 20 for threads about you for doing this its really sad and you are just pissed because fizzer contacted you about it. Again its just really really sad

Stalling is not the same thing as playing slow. It's deliberately taking long turns to progress of a game in order to gain an advantage on a ladder.

Just because ACL Tears is a slow player doesn't mean he's been stalling this game- he's clearly interested in finishing the game quickly and believes that finishing this game before the season ends is net beneficial for him on the ladder. He gains nothing from slowing down the game.

But MisterT's very clearly slowed down- since the pick stage, all of his turns have taken 10 or fewer hours to commit and now we've been waiting on him for 2 days 11 hours. He's certainly been active/online in that timeframe and could have taken that turn at 1 day 23 hours (which was when he was last online when I checked at 2d2h). Delaying the progress of this game essentially guarantees MisterT the #1 spot on this seasonal ladder, so he has everything to gain from playing slower here. And the fact that MisterT played faster in this game means that he's slowed down way more significantly this turn.

Why get mad at ACL Tears for bringing it up and pointing it out? Even if ACL Tears is guilty of the same thing in other games, that doesn't make this any less of an issue.

@Ox: Not to mention a good number of likely stallers.

There should be an option to blacklist someone twice. Or perhaps an option for OxTheAutist to blacklist himself. I give absolutely 0 thoughts on the opinion of the leader of a diplo clan initially founded by Lawlz aka TheNationalSocialist. Absolutely 0 competitive players take him serious with his stupid so called "shitposting", outside of the diplo world he is just non existant. He is just right in one point and this is calling himself a shitposter, his posts are indeed full of shit coming right out of his brain.

People cheat* in the ladder because

1. High Reward
2. It is very easy
3. Low Risk
4. No "real" punishment

So really we should be asking why we are not cheating....

* multiple accounts, stalling, rigging match-ups etc.

Norman relax, I take OxTheAutist very serious. No sirusly I do. As far as I know he has found more ladder cheaters then anyone else. He probably would be a moderator, if it was up to me. (Unless he secretly already is a mod)

@Norman: Just because you don't like someone doesn't mean they're wrong. No one on the forum really cares about your attitude toward specific people, anyway.

@TBest: well, for some of us, it's not as rewarding if we get something by cheating.

But as you point out, it works like doping. If someone else is cheating and you want to stay competitive, you essentially have to join in unless the system catches them.

Either Fizzer cracks down on it, or things continue to get worse with no accountability. There's not even a way on the third-party end to accurately programmatically detect stalling right now, even though Fizzer stores the necessary data on WL servers. If you could access commit speed through the query game API and not just by individually checking each game, we'd at least be able to detect larger-scale stalling.

@TBest:

Attributes generally associated with a policeman: Honour, Respect, Authority

Attributes generally associated with a snitch: Slimy, Dirty, Sneaky

Imo a snitch isn't a good policeman. Where is OxTheAutist's mail again where he "gratulated" one of our clan member for his high ladder rank with a supposed alt? The one we laughed about... can't find it currently.

i mean, i didn't know that multiaccounting was in the monkey hunter strategy guide, but do you just expect me to ignore monkey hunters when i see them multiaccounting? smileyleg and Nox did it as well, and i didn't exactly give them special treatment.

i mean, i could find that mail i made some time ago, but oh well, i cba.

also, if you click "Report" on https://www.warlight.net/Clans/?ID=257 , you can very clearly see it was "Zephyrum", who founded the clan. if you're talking about this clan: https://www.warlight.net/Clans/?ID=60 you can clearly see it was "Prometheus" and not "Lawlz" or whatever you're talking about.

Norman, i'm not trying to give you my opinion. i literally said nothing but facts; there are 2 confirmed multiaccounters in your clan, whether you like it or not ;)

idk if you're typing all this out as damage-control or as a coping mechanism, but either way, it's pretty pathetic.

Oh, just like y'all keep a confirmed, unapologetic ladder cheater (who kept going after being confronted and informed about it until he was called out in public twice) in your clan? And not just in your clan, but maxxed out in your Clan League team. Turns out if you pretend to apologize and just say "I'll never do it again," Fizzer lets you off with a warning and your clan decides it'd rather take in those extra Clan League points at no cost to its reputation than actually police its members and have at least a little bit of ethics.

Don't throw rocks if you live in a glass house.

In either case, this thread isn't about Ox or your opinion of him. It's about a case of obvious stalling that's gonna go unresolved, allowing MisterT to win the seasonal ladder and later come up with some excuse ("oh I was on vacation") after which no one will ask any questions because he's an elite player and in |GG| and people don't like getting shit on by elitists while not actually getting Fizzer to do anything about ladder cheating on this site. And ofc, if someone brings it up a month from now, some other person will talk about all these other cases of ladder cheating that were never dealt with- so why should we deal with this one? Or any one?

It's not just M'Hunters. The mainstream strat community of this site has through inaction lost any credibility it has when it talks about preventing ladder cheating.

It says a hell of a lot about this site when someone brings up a case of stalling and the immediate responses they get are personal attacks on them.

Ah, there was his mail:

"hi there... i'm just interested to see which players have other accounts in elite clans because I want to get to know warlight better, is it true you are [...] ^_^ if so, then pretty damn impressive, and congrats on 2k in the ladder btw!"

I believe everyone can judge for themself if this is "honorable policeman work" or "dirty snitch work". Enough said on my part, OxTheAutist's words speak for themself. My only advice for everyone is to stay away from him, else he will turn you in. What was spoken in private he will shout from the rooftop.

He's clearly able to take the turn, given that he's in only 9 ongoing multi-days. He's been online probably at least half a dozen times since that turn started. And yet he chose not to take it. Clear-cut stalling here.

@Tabby: Yes. Stalling (in the context of cheating/abuse) is different from delaying. You can delay Clan League games where you're losing, for example, but the only advantage you get is saving face.
