A change from "uservoice it" to "ask someone to mod it"? How crazy. I like the inspect and history features, but dislike that close button in the bottom left. It looks a bit clunky (sortof like the mobile app today). One question- will keyboard commands for history still be available after the update?
Also pretty interesting but expected that mobile is larger then the website by player amount.
Looking forward to this update, and thanks for working hard!
curious on how that mod system will work in practical terms, the games will list the mods required?! you'll have a central repo to manage their versioning?
1) The super small buttons at the top-left corner (that changes between inspection mapmode and deploy/move/commit phases) look awful and are too small on the demo video, that's something you might want to change. At leats grow them on the browser version a bit, they seem quite bothersome to move around in.
2) The general speed/performance boost is probably the best part. Hurray for a not so laggy Warlight :D
3) Are Sockets coming out of the beta when Unity comes?
4) Mods... Uh. I guess it can work. I need to see that in effect, but I'm scared this might as well just be another flop. In-game currency does have my dee-dee hardened, though. Just make sure the mod compatibility isn't too complex and that might be great.
...Why must you do this after I start a retire attempt? :( Now I'm gonna get attached again. At least now I have a phone that can run WarLight without turning into a timed bomb out of lag. >_<
EDIT: 5) Will the Unity member-only alpha be avaiable on Mobile too?
Will the switch to Unity be mandatory? Like if I wanted to run slow old WarLight will I still be able to play? Or at least there better be a user-face mod to keep the current design. Overall sounds pretty good though.
Been here since 2011. Amazing how much of a caring developer you are. Those new features look fantastic but I'll be honest, its going to be sad to see the old game go. All of the "problems" that you pointed out are all things that are apart of the game for me. (except the history function!) Maybe I'm just a stubborn old player and the game is ingrained in me. I want the game and Fizzer to be successful but I'm just afraid the game will turn to a more user friendly, easy, interface happy, game. I like the "cold" graphics and interface we have now and not the nice bright and colorful interface as displayed. I just don't want this to become an app for iphone kids while the PC players get left behind. Maybe I'm just a dick.
Not trying to be disrespectful, great work and happy 2017.
it looks good, I remember when this site ran on Silverlight, that was crazy slow, but the best part is that the mobil devices can get the full options. cant wait
I'm kinda concerned about a couple things. But the overall feel of it will make it worth it. I think as long as I can access profiles/ladders/ forum from the new Unity app, I won't care.
This is amazing! Does this mean we can make 3D maps?? I'm really excited for this update. Unity is a really powerful engine that can do amazing things. Surely this game can only improve. The mods idea is really cool too.
