May be im blind or to stupid (no comments pls), but this is full of bugs.
pls check my 1st game in ladder

Turn 1:
My 2 picks in west: both areas r named "forest", colours r black(grey) for mountain and kind of green for jungle and swamps. But doesnt count like it.

5 basic armies + 1 for the 3 picks in south (arid grasslands is the colour but named as desert!?!?!?!)+ 1 for the 2 picks in the red area. all in all 7.
For the 2 picks in east it should be - 2 and -3 if they count as swamp and mountain. so i should have an income of 2. but i have 4??
When we count these 2 ones as forest (as named) i should have an income of 7, cause its 0 for both.

When we count the 3 in south as its named (desert) we got another result again.

Pls dont misunderstand me. I like the idea very well and the seasonal ladder is the right one for those things but if im not stupid this ladder should be stopped and the map should be revised.

For now, i think the one who checked possible picks 1st wins this game. imho there is no way to find in this game through well picked backups. u need to be fast - nothing else

So your west-most pick, Guinean Mangroves, is in a forest. That's +0.
The next one over, Guinean Forest-Savanna Mosaic, is actually in a swamp. That's -3.
The next two, Lagos, and Lower Niger, are in an exceptional lands. That's +1.
Then the three in the south are in an arid grasslands. That's +1.

So your starting income is 5+0-3+1+1 = 4, as it should be.

I don't know why some of the swamps are named forests and arid grasslands are named deserts, etc, but pay attention to the color rather than the name. There are a number of problems with the map itself, in my opinion, but we can't change them because the creator of the map is not active.

well, ty for explanation. i got it now. to realize the colour i needed to zoom in.
seriously, thats not nice to play. fizzer should stop it and start the saison again with an mellow map and settings.
i dont play that anyway.
start next saison than with an revised map. its worth of it.

Jo, the problem is that the excellent players that voted for this template with the strange coloursystem and the missunderstandable bonus names....
They alreaedy are used to it so they know exactly that the so called forrest is a swamp....

Template itself (the principle) is nice, but the implementation with not distinctive colors and no possibility to select bonus is bad.

imo the map maker just wanted to retain accuracy to its fullest extent

sure people who live there may call it a forest, despite it technically being a misnomer as from a geographic standpoint it's actually a swamp

Random question:

On this template, the sum of your bonuses and your base armies per turn can be negative. For example, you can be at -2 armies per turn on turn 1. But since it's not possible to have a negative income, the game changes it to 0 armies per turn.

Now in case of a force-finish, the winner is usually determined according to the (armies controlled + 2*income) formula.
If a player is supposed have a negative income, let's say -2, what number will the formula use for the income? -2 or 0?

The force-finish algorithm uses your actual income -- i.e, how many armies you would actually deploy. So it will be 0, not -2.
