let me tell you the secret to beating mod by revealing his world reknown picking strategy:
- safe exceptional lands in north, south and west
- grasslands
- position in center/east
- double pick swamp as counters
- position on remaining highlands, forests, islands or arid grasslands

you can be an mod aswell, just trust in yourself, practice like hell and hope timinator wont stall you for silly mistakes that cost you an already won game!

It's a great map, couple of practice games to get the idea and anyone can play, just like any other map.

Any chance that this could be changed to cyclic as apposed to NLC?

The seasonal hasn't yet started and it shouldn't be hard to change it yet

Yes. Please change it to cyclic. No-Luck Cycle makes no fun and i'm pretty sure it wasn't intentionally submitted with NLC. Cycle suits that template better and i think the majority of the community would agree with me on that one.

The template originally had contained Cycle. NLC got into the template because there was a huge coin tournament on it. You have to have NLC on coin games.

NLC on MD games is never a good idea. Cyclic is the way to go.

yes nlc got in by accident cause whoever submitted africa first, used a link from a coingame. if fizzer can be bothered to Change that, it would be better.

The example games on MotD's page are all cyclic, so using NLC for seasonal is confusing. I didn't realize it was NLC when the template was submitted. I vote to change it to cycle as well. This template is confusing to new players and people with color blindness. I think it's better not to pressure them to pick quickly.

I would disagree, I think No-luck Cycle works better for this template
-> on some games, there is 1 pick (in exceptional lands for example) clearly superior to all the others.
-> on other games, there are only 13 "decent" picks, and starting with the 14th you need to pick in mountains or swamps.

Since it can be really advantageous to get the first pick (and to avoid the 14th), I think it's only fair to give it to the fastest picker, rather than to give it randomly.

but suppose you have 3 ISOLATED exceptional lands
and you want to have 2 of them.so whoever stalls the picks the most gets 2 of them,thereby getting clear advantage through nlc
