It is worth noting that more predictable tournament scheduling will have a positive effect upon vacations. Anything that helps people balance, manage, and deconflict their Warlight schedule with their real life responsibilities and commitments will be beneficial.

3v3 -

• Deadman's Rise of Rome:
  
  
  • MASTERs get their first win on RoR, defeating Blitz. Blitz moves to the lower end of the W/L spectrum to tie with ONE! at last place; both have 2 losses.
    
  • In another first, Outlaws beat Turtles to secure their first win as well. Nackickwind and DanWL (no longer in Turtles) were both booted on the final turn, but this had no effect on the outcome of the game. DanWL will be replaced with Turkish to strengthen Turtles' RoR team for the remaining games.
  
  Standings ~ Lynx: 3-0 / MASTERs: 1-0, Outlaws: 1-0 / French: 1-1 / Turtles: 0-1 / Blitz: 0-2, ONE!: 0-2

  • Lynx defeat Outlaws, and are now tied at first in Europe alongside MASTERs. This game also contained another boot that had no effect on the outcome of the game. Both Juan (no longer in Outlaws) and MarkusBM have now been subbed by Tac(ky)tical and Dogberry, respectively,
    although neither was the one that was booted in the game vs Lynx.

• French beat Lynx. This game was very critical, as, up until this point, Lynx and French were tied for first in Guiroma. French now take an absolute lead in Guiroma with 3 straight victories, while Lynx is relegated to a lower position.
  
• Lynx loses a second game on Guiroma, this time losing to ONE! This is ONE!'s first win on Guiroma, which moves them to 2nd place alongside MASTERs. Lynx gets lowered to third at 2 wins and 2 losses.

Masters (1) get another win, and stay at first place for the eighth week in a row.

Lynx (2) have mixed results this week. They move to tie for first in Europe and start climbing up from the bottom in Final Earth to third place. On the other hand, they lose two games in Guiroma, lowering them to third place in the tournament, and also lose on China. They have a net loss of 3 points this week, and their Max Points (MP) score drops well below MASTERs'. If they plan on contending for first, they need to drop fewer games against their opponents. No games between MASTERs and Lynx have completed.

French (3) do the best this week by obtaining the first 1v1 win in Division A and being completely undefeated so far in Guiroma.

Turtles (4) stay the same rating-wise with both a win and a loss, but the loss in RoR counts for more points than their win on China (for a net loss of 1 point).

ONE! (5) get revenge on Lynx for last week by having their one completed game this week be a win against Lynx on Guiroma. They move up to 5th again.

Outlaws (6) also have mixed results. Although they gain a crucial 5 points for beating Turtles in RoR, they negate their win in RoR by losing in Europe and also get the infamy of being the first clan to lose a 1v1 game. They have a net loss of 3 points this week (all from the 1v1 loss), and trade places with ONE! to fall to 6th.

Blitz (7) is the first clan to drop below the 200 MP threshold with two losses this week.

Lynx/Outlaws do ... strangely this week. Both have negative net changes in TP earned, but still do modestly this week. French do the best by staying completely in the lead in Guiroma and earning their first (and Division A's first) 1v1 win. Omelets.

I'd like to make it clear that I do not condone any hanging of any sort, and that people have been fed false information. However, I do like burning and I'll be sure my "secretary" doesn't speak for me in loco parentis. I'm now a grown man, I don't need babysitting.

the most awesome solution would be to be able to change players in a already started game but I think thats impossible for now. Not even sure fizzer can do that.

There is a possible workaround for changing a player in a started game, but it brings other problems with it.
You could use accounts that are only created to play in CL and the login-info is shared within the clan, but then you can't really control who is playing...

Its not like that cannot be done already. I guess its easier to filter such clan shared accounts from it, since they probably only participate in clan league with switching country flags, then know when people shared their main account with other people

Even if you keep it as it is right now that would be possible since you can just screenshot the state of the map and just share that link with the others in the clan to discus about what you need to do there so using specific accounts to play with won't make a change keeping that in mind.

In the end u just need to hope that everybody has a little sense for fairplay and don't ask other players for help who aren't involved in the game.

Not only in CL but also in general that's cheating.

All of these things are considered to be cheating. You shouldn't be getting game-specific help from anyone who is not involved in the game.

Also, it'd be great if we didn't brainstorm ways to cheat in a public forum.

Since you're using a CLOT now, you actually might have the tools necessary to curb account cheating if you're able to figure out how to make people go to your CLOT site often enough. Record the IP of visiting players and set up a system to alert yourself if your record of an IP address associated with a WL account changes significantly.

Far from perfect, although you might be able to use it in conjunction with other techniques and maybe some anomaly detection algorithms (not sure what features to start with on those, though)... But Beren's right; decency will ultimately have to be left to the participants because getting away with cheating here will never be that hard.

When their is reward, People who don't have morals will cheat. Take the typical scenario, CL is pressuring for some players as your representing your clan and need to win games for your clan. Some players will cheat like the "brainstormed" ways in this chat. Cheating happens everywhere. I guarentee some form of cheating happens in every CL. "Trusting decency" that phrase always reminds me of the Olympics and Lance Armstrong. Where the cheating is so bizzare it ruins the legitmacy of the sport! Luckily WarLight is not that bad... Though even if it was, Very hard to detect so we actually don't know how "Bad" it is.

If their is any tool to detect cheating it should be highly considered and implemented. Though, Luckily WarLight is a strategy game and on high skilled games. So, Division A + B wouldn't be effected. But for Q1 Q2 Q3 there would be a considered advantage in sharing screenshots.

If it happens in ladders , Why can't it happen here?

• Europe
  ONE! picks up a crucial win against Outlaws due to a boot(MarkusBM). The game was quite even with Outlaws enjoying an income advantage, although ONE! had good position. Outlaws will be bitterly disappointed with a boot against a direct rival. This is their second loss on EU through a boot. I thought they would be one of the most reliable clans this season. What do I know!
  
  
• Deadman's Rome
  Turtles pick up an unlikely win against ONE!. DanWL got booted on turn 5 and seems to have refused to take over. He has left the clan, and been substituted. This was a 14 turn game and Turtles remarkably pulled through with an AI! They'll be hoping for lesser drama in their remaining games in this tournament.
  

2v2:

• Final Earth
  ONE! beats Lynx to pick up their first win in this tournament. Beren and Wick defeat Arkanton and GreenTea. I'm going to count this as an upset coz I know Beren sucks! Lynx have a 1-2 record and will hope for a better showing in the remaining games.
  
  Turtles beat Blitz as USA Biches + Oh recover after their first loss to post three consecutive wins. They have a 3-1 overall record.

• Volcano Island
  Masters beat Turtles with USA Biches booting on turn 3 in a game where he had an income advantage. Jz posts her first points of CL9.

  French suffer two heavy losses as Marechal Lannes doesn't join his games in the allotted three days. He has now been substituted. Lynx and Master benefit to pick up free wins.
  
  ONE! picks up a win against Blitz as PJ017 gets his first win on Greece. This game was decided on a boot as well with linberson the culprit this time. PJ017 probably had a positional advantage though.
  
  
• Guiroma
  Bananashake(Blitz) doesn't join his 2 games on time to gift Outlaws and ONE free wins.
  
  Turtles beat French as Buns picks up his first win on a short game lasting 3 turns.
  
  ONE defeat Outlaws as PJ017 picks up his second win to go 2-0.
  

Standings:



Masters pick up two fortuitous wins on 1v1s to preserve their unbeaten record this season. They occupy the first spot with a 9-0 record thus far.

Lynx have a mixed week with a 1-1 record. They're sitting comfortable in the 2nd spot. However, they'll need Masters to drop points to keep the pace.

ONE has the best week among all clans as they go 5-1 to race up to 3rd. They have a good lead on the clans in the relegation zone and may re-evaluate their goals this season.

Turtles have a good week with a 3-1 record. The boot loss was avoidable, but overall they will be pleased with the previous week as they climb up the table to 4th.

French have a bad week as they lose three 1v1s. The non-joins were unfortunate and they'll look for more reliability from their substitute. They also slip to 5th on the back of good results for their competitors.

Outlaws have a 1-2 record this week with a bad boot loss which may come back to haunt them in their fight against relegation. They need to keep pace with the pack of clans above them.

Blitz's nightmare season continues with four losses this week. They need to turn this around and the first step would be to join the games and not get booted!
