Next time you apply for a job, won't you use a CV? I know for a fact that applicants can be turned down for bad handwriting (in some cases, applications are requested to be handwritten) or bad 'SPG' (Spelling, Punctuation and Grammar).

In school, yes it may not matter so much (though I think it should) but school isn't the real world. Do you think somebody would like to employ somebody who makes English mistakes most of my class at 11 wouldn't have? I don't.

Saying all of that, I can't base my opinion of your English on your forum posts. A lot of people don't bother writing in 'good' English on the forums or games (I never used to) but when needed, can write perfectly well (an assumption; I expect people can write with capital letters and full stops when they want to).

I haven't proof read this, so I'm hoping I haven't made mistakes after all of that ^^ :P

Also, your 5% point is irrelevant. I think it is highly unlikely most people will only lose 5% on everything apart from spelling so their spelling could be the difference from grades quite easily, and (I expect), commonly.

Yeah im assuming spelling stops counting in america as part of your grade in like the fourth grade hence the fact that american kids think bestest is a word even though it isnt i have no respect for the US educational system thiugh ive only had ti deal with North Carolinas- which sucks

No such grade A+ in GCSE or IGCSE. Grades are A*, A, B, C ...
BTW it is pronounced A Star.

@Yuri Benderov - In Michigan, it still counts as part of a student's grade, but Spell Checker is used quite a bit. (Granted, I will admit that I have typed phrases into Google to see a suggestion of the proper usage to help reduce mistakes.)

@ wilfred owen: its actually pronounced a* star =D. Putting an asterix next to a letter is one way of showing that the letter should be pronounced as you would when reading it in the alphabet. "a star" sounds like the "a" in "ant". a* star sounds like the a in "way". I know that the majority of America has a crappy educational system, but I just did not see it here where I live. I don't really live in a rich neighborhood, and the schools I went to weren't particularly nice or outstanding. I would say the majority of the school I went to knew evolution was fact. (Our Biology teachers taught it) The majority of our school could read and write at a high school level. It had mostly to do with the student body just being interested in being at school. The teachers were decent, and the classes weren't that boring. Above all, the students were interested in learning.

So even though the standard is low for the average skunk, why do you want to be average? Before the moments of your death, do you want to look back and say, "Oh well, I lived an average life."? I don't.

Good thing i am working at well above averge isnt it.
