I get that you're set on introducing commanders more to the strategic community, I guess to encourage people to buy memberships, fair enough, it's your game, and obviously this is also a business. LD I think is a fair enough twist, and should bring a different angle to the gameplay.
The only problem I have is the map, we have just played a MME commanders seasonal, but that aside, I have played a couple games on it, and the map is way too big for LD. It's also not the right type, I think LD is best played on maps which are just a lump of land mass, where as MME has too many chokepoints, and also has no edges since you can cross from the sides of the map to the other side, I don't think this map is really a LD one.
Basically, I think more community input into the templates would be a good idea. I think the voting on the last season was quite successful, if you want a particular setting, you can make us vote on only templates with that setting. People might not like commanders, but if the community could at least help create the template they play commanders on, there might be less complaints.
Can the length of the seasonal be increased at least this season to avoid all the force-surrenders? There was a month between the end of Season XXIV and XXV anyway, so there is no reason not to extend the season an extra few weeks.
