Description

Drums are beating in the distance through the fog, followed by the sound of thousands of soldiers marching towards the city. Knights put on their armor, archers hurry to the walls and children are brought to safety. Feldmere is about to face the greatest battle in its history...

The use of the integrated artwork in this map was inspired by the wonderful map "Breaking Green" by Ranek [https://www.warlight.net/Map/16938-Breaking-Green]. An observant eye may also recognize the trees. I hope you will enjoy this map.

This map is exceptionally pretty and very fun to play. Extremely polished, multiple scenarios, variety of bonuses, starting points, choke points, super bonuses. AI get a bit confused (as always when it comes to superbonuses) but I am very impressed with the map. Look forward to trying it in more multiplayer games.

I chose 5 stars is because it isn't just the best map but how the map was designed. This map is good for 4v4, 3v3, 2v2 1v1, 2v2v2v2 and so on. I also like this map because its unique in many ways than other maps. I also gave it five stars because of the different game modes that can be played in this map. My personal favorite one is gang bang because of how many teams can play at once.

Wonderful map. The only downside is the overabundance of chokepoints (in my opinion; some may love that feature). It's possible to be completely trapped in a part of the map due to a large Blockade or a similar maneuver.

Since this map page goes to 2 different maps, I'll give 2 reviews. First for "Better to Give" -- I'll give it 3 stars. For "Siege of Feldmere" I'll give it 1 star. The maps are really nicely made, they look terrific and connections are well made. But as far as gameplay on them.... on "Better to Give" the only way to get a gold star is if you happen to get VERY lucky and have an AI partner that actually helps you by taking out one of the AI's. There is no way you can take out all 3 AI's by yourself in time for the gold. On :Siege of Feldmere" it is totally impossible to get the gold, 14 turns is nuts. If I am wrong on that, I want to see someone post it on you-tube and show me it's possible to win that map in 14 moves. If I was just rating the maps, they'd be 5 stars, but I take how hard it is to get gold into account when I rate maps.

Quite a nice map, liked the 'defensive and attacking' theme. Its quite important to control the ships, however I feel that those attacking have a slight advantage, due to the defensive people not having as much liability to spread.

This map seems like it could be very unbalanced. In my one game, it was. The greater exposed area of the outskirts makes it difficult for the city vs outskirt distribution. The outskirts must get a quick attack or they're always on the defense.

This map relies on luck to star. To star add 1 unit to the eastern stables each turn from turn 1. At turn 3 gift the stables to ally. Fail to do this and the AI will not use that gift until around turn 8. Gift with 3 tricks the AI into using it on round 4. The AI will refuse to breach the east gate until very late, turn 11 or so, but it will keep control of the east territories. Fail to gift with units and the AI will refuse to advance past the Anthon Bridge in the west. The ally AI will stay at that bridge and not cross it or advance north-east. It will build up large stacks of useless armies and churn around that area, refusing to defend against 1 unit attacks. It takes one extra turn for your super bonus in the west but your ally AI will breach the Anthon Bridge, busting the west enemy AI super bonus so it works out better. Kill west commander by turn 15 and take territories your ally can reach to force it to advance and kill last commander.

Wonderfull map with many ways to win but also loose. Amazing how well balanced the map is in this 3 vs 2 scenario where you start of with an AI player and it important to find the right strategies together with the AI. With 3 computer players against you it is a constant battle to never let one of them get too powerfull.

Very tough map, but once you figure out the strategy, it is beatable. You need to be willing to sacrifice some territory in the beginning so you can gain it back later in order to ensure your armies are not spread out too thin.

Well yeah, the map looks nice, can't argue with that. However I hosted a couple lottery games on this map and it just didn't feel right. All that fancy schmancy artwork makes stuff to commplicated imo. The guys having the big points spot kept complaining how hard it was to eliminate all opponents first turn. Sorry bro, I really wanted to give your map a chance but it just doesen't have any lottery value. You either adapt your map for lottery play or this map will end up as a high ranked map that nobody plays on.
